Wow thanks, It looks like Shelly a Courtney dont have nothin on Fish Gal. Those are some Hog Salmon. That 58 lber was awsome too. You all deffinatly got the big Salmon over there. We are starting to push 40 lBs over here in Michigan again. It seem the new strain of eggs we got from you all has got the genetics back on track. My Hats off to west coast. Fishall

My biggest is a 25lb Pt-no-Pt King, caught when I was 16. I lost a 40lb+ King up at Seiku the last year they had a King season, in the early 90's. Lost it just as we went to net it.

Hey Fishall ... Fishgal appreciates your comments She grew up on the Kenai Peninsula and it took all of one trip on the Quillayute River near Forks to find her landing the largest fish to that date that you probably saw within the gallery, an estimated 46 to 48 pound fish that we released. Personally, my largest was a 52 pounder, but had many clients catch fish bigger ... pert of the game when you opt to take people fishing instead of catching yourself all the time Come pay us a visit sometime!

My personal lifetime largest Salmon, I caught 5 years ago in the Trask River, was 46#. It was the hardest fighting fish I have ever gotten. It as 20 minutes of brute force on both ends, I Won!!

I netted a 56 pounder for a friend a few years ago, but this is my biggest. I didn't weigh it, but it was easily 40+.

Dad got this 45+ pound fish with Bob two years ago. I let one go around 55, but since it was foul hooked, that don't count. So, Bob get's the honors again by getting me this nice 42lb chromer hen last year! PS. There are *NO* second run kings in the Kasilof! Oh yeah, and this Bob guy does just *OK* up there.

OK, I know the picture is bad...A digital of a picture I have hanging on the wall. 86 pounds 8 ounces officially weighted. Client caught it with me in 1984 on the Kenai River @Honeymoon Cove on eggs and a spin-glo. My personal best is a 70 pounder on the Kenai, of course.

Unbelievable!! I never new that Salmon could get over 70 lbs. That 90 lber caught in the net is the Biggest Salmon I have ever laid eyes on. You guys really do have the best Salmon fishing in the world. I wonder why our Kings dont get as Big. It must have something to do with the forage or lack of salt. We got our brood stock eggs from west coast fish so its not genetics. I would love to see one of my custom spoons in the mouth of Salmon over 70 lbs. or over 40 for that matter. Couple of mid 30's have been caught on my spoons so far this year havnt got the pics yet. Thanks for all the great responses, Fishall

Well, My wife topped my 29 lber with a 40" 31 plus pounder caught on one of my Glow Watermelon spoons. I cant Imagine what the fight would be like hooked into that 96 lb Buck. It took us 25 minutes to land her 31 lber with a 9 ft down rigger rod , Okuma 30D reel and 20 lb P-line. It must take some real heavy gear for the Alaskan Hogs. Fishall

The first king salmon I ever caught (1987) weighed 30 pounds. I still haven't caught a bigger one. I hooked one that was 40+ up in Canada, but it swam into another guy's motor.

AKKing You got it, It is Craig. Good eye. I take it you have fished and or guided there. Wy wife and I owned wooden wheel cove lodge on the north end of the island. We sold it last year. I started the new busines last year in Craig. It's called Prince of Wales Sportfishing. Here it is the middle of Aug, and we are still slamming kings. Limits are still no problem. The best fishing has been in the trench of ST Joe's. We are getting kings at three hundred fifty feet

B. Gray, I guided for Waterfall Resort for 6 yrs.gave it up 2 years ago after getting married. I know what you mean about St. Joe in Aug, I loved those silvers off the bottom in 250 ft. of water, a few kings thrown in to make things interesting and usually a limit of chicken butts to top off the box. Where did your wife get her #54? I'm guessing the Cape or Seine Rock. Good luck the rest of the season, its good to hear from someone from my old fishing grounds.

Akkings, That was a pineapple fish. You probly know my good freind Mike Nicholes. The coho fishing has been a little slower this year, But we are still slamming kings. Nice talking to you. I will hook up with you later. I am finishing up here on the 25th and I am fishing every day till then. Talk to you soon.
