I am interested in how anglers are doing on the Clackamas River for Chinook. Last i heard, it was fair, but it is now mid June, and I would like to know how the fishing is holding up, and how long it will stay. Any info will help, thanks.

I hit the Clackamas on Sunday morning (6/23) just below River Mill Dam. There are plenty of springers, they're rolling/jumping everywhere. Many of them are dark but a good number are still reasonably fresh, although none are chrome. There were quite a few anglers (20-30), mostly on the other side (McIver Park). Most folks were using floats with eggs or shrimp.

I picked up a nice 23lb buck on eggs. It was still fairly bright, although it had some color to it. I saw a few other fish hooked and a couple that were released (unclipped fish). In all, it was a bit slow but I can't complain.

Another angler said that area has been quite productive lately, particularly in the late afternoon and early evening. So it's worth a try. But be careful wading if they're generating power. It's very slick and when they're generating, the water can be treacherous. Good luck.

The last time I tried to go in on the Estacada side of River Mill (north) I got ran off by the security guard. Are they still working on the dam ? I climbed fences and went around the construction but came back through the lot.I like fishing that side but didnt like the hasle.
Any info would be great.

I didn't see any evidence of construction or any security guards there on Sunday (6/23). Perhaps it's finished or they only work on weekdays. But whatever the reason, there was no hassle getting down to the river. I wasn't the only one there either. About 7-8 other anglers were also trying their luck.
