im wondering does anyone here on the bb own a beretta 8040 d mini cougar .40 cal? or a 8040f mini cougar .40, or a 9000 s type f .40? im looking at pricing one of these guns, anyone know a store that carries them? anything equivilent to a beretta or better out there??? and if so, can you give me some names of the manufacturers and the reason why they are a better gun, im weighing all possibilities.. thanks **berkley boy**

I have a mini-cougar in .45acp, I bought mine 2yrs ago. At the time I paid $500 for it. The only stores that had them were Guntown in Lynnwood and Gart sports in Everett and Lynnwood. I was torn between the .40 and .45,I went with the .45 as I feel it has more stopping power. The .40 was also $50 more than the .45,I think the .40 is a trendier caliber, that everybody has to have, maybe that's the $$$ differce.

I've been very happy with my gun,I love it! It's very accurate...probably more than I am. It came with 2 mags, 1 is a shorty mag as long as the grip the other is a fullsize with 2 finger grooves. the only thing I don't like is the weight,it's a bit to heavy for a carry gun IMO. Other than the carry weight,it being a little heavier makes it a pleasure to shoot. Follow up shots are easy as there isn't much muzzle jump.

My wife shoots very little but when she does come out with me...it's all I can do to get her to give it up so I can shoot it!

If you plan to carry get a lighter gun. After awhile you'll get tired of lugging a heavy gun around. I just traded my Ruger for a Glock to save 10 ounces. I could shoot the lights out with the Ruger and conceal it fine, but it was too heavy.
