During it’s peak week of the year, what fishery is your hottest?

Mention how many you catch (& release,) and how big they are.

(Mine is probably the Harrison River mouth in BC, where at it’s peak time I usually get 30+ hard-fighting chum salmon, each an arm-bending 11lbs. or so.)

I would have to say the Hood Canal Hatchery Zone Chum and Enetai hatchery fishery. Catch hard fighting chums till your arm falls off all through November .

Okay, I'll give up my favorite zipperlip, right now, last 10 days of July, Cape Ulitka, 18-20 miles from Craig, Ak.
40-50-60 lbs. kings, with limits of silvers (6 per person, avg. 10 lbs.)thrown in.
Once you finish up on the salmon, its a 10 minute boat ride to finish out the day with a limit of chicken halibut. \:D

Uh oh AKkings. Now there will be tons of us there this weekend. Let's see.... get out the map... and it's right over .... Dang! OK, well nevermind. Have fun by yourself and catch some for me.

The only days I've ever had easy limits were at Buoy 10 and Ocean Silvers, Wind River Chinook, and freshly stocked lake trout ;\)

Minter Creek in November for Chums. Lots of fun. Great for kids.

Behind John Day Dam in the winter after they re-open the ladders following maintenance (for steelhead).

If it's sheer numbers your looking for, the month of October, just about anywhere is pretty hard to beat.

LaPush, Neah Bay, Westport, right now, and for the past month and a half.

Had another great day out at LaPush this past Sunday, five people on the boat, kept 8 chinook and two coho, chinook to 22lbs, kept two bleeder hatchery coho that were 7lbs. Many fish caught and released, for about an hour and a half in around noon, we caught a chinook every 5 minutes... best chinook fishing I've ever seen.

I have to go with StorminN, nothing like dropping a Pt. Wilson dart at Canadian Swiftsure-- kings, halibut, true cod, coho, yellowtail rockfish, the next hour more of the same.

A few other great spots, mostly from what I’ve heard, are:

The White River in Arkansas (allegedly twice as many trout per mile as any stream in Washington, Montana or Oregon, for example.) Particularly in the catch and release sections.

Vedder River in SW British Columbia in October for Kings, Coho, and Chum. I’ve caught (& released) 25+ salmon per day, and so have plenty of other people.

East Lake in Oregon. Good shot at a huge trout, but also lots of action on smaller trout if you choose to target them. Probably best when water temp. is in the mid-50’s.

Any other incredible spots, guys!?

Thanks.
