I am an avid fisherman from Ohio here on vacation. Ive been here almost a month and had no success on the rivers in Oregon. Im staying i the Eugene area but dont mind driving a few hours to get some good fishing in. Im a member of http://www.gofishohio.com and my name there is zfish as well. I am trying to catch steelies with the occasional salmon. Ive been fishing the Mckenzie river mostly and in many spots I can see the fish but cant get them to bite anything. I will catch and release anything that I catch just want to have a good time and some pictures to post on the ohio site. If anyone can point me to the right direction it would be greatly appriciated. I did do some ocean fishing and have very good sucess with ling cod and sea bass but thats been the only good fishing so far. Thank you for your help.

Try posting on the IFISH site they are in Oregon and can steer you to some water. I wouldn't be surprised if someone offers to take you out. Good Luck

i used to frequent the mckenzie alot when i was 17, there dint seem to be many fish in that river, however i would find alot of corkies on the river, only thing i caught out of there was a trout for like 6 months of off and on again fishing..i personally dont like the mckenzie river or springfield/eugene area, but up on the willamete up by the dam, there are good numbers of kings, jus drive up there and look **berkley boy**
