I am having lots of trouble getting a pass to fish the Nisqually from the army and I need to find a place where I can take my son fishing to try to get him his first king; any river you'd recommend that is close to Olympia and too overly crowded?

It'll be a while, but the Chehalis/Grays harbor will be good in about two months. Lots of room, but you need a boat.

Does your son have waders?? A friend of mine told me that 3 pods of Kings showed up at Hoodsport hatchery. I was also told that the hatchery opened the gates and let them in so they may have there quota of fish. You can call the Hoodsport hatchery at 360-877-5222 and ask them hows the fishing. Good luck
