I hooked a small one last Sat afternoon on the North side of the bay. Fishing the incoming tide, 60ft deep in 120 feet of water, using bait. Unfortunately, I lost him at the boat.

There were a dozen other boats and we didn't see any fish caught.

Hi kennyray. The bubble is a small area along Mission beach and Tulalip bay just north of Everett. The fishery is for mature kings returning to the tulalip hatchery. These kings hang around and move in and out of the bay with the tide. You cant miss the area as there will be lots of boats during the weekend. You will find them suspended just off the underwater bars at low tide. the key here is to move around until you find them.(you've got to put your time in if you want to put fish in the boat) So far this year the hot lure for me has been the green herring grandslam behind a green hotspot but I've seen fish taken on silverhorde plugs and glow in the dark white hoochies fished down 75 - 100 feet deep. If you can experiment, do, until you find what they want on that particular day. Good luck!

I have fished the bubble for the past three years pretty hard. I will agree and say you have to put in "your time" to catch the fish. This year it seems I have caught most of my fish shallow this year as appossed to deeper last year. All of my fish but one have been caught between 30-50ft this year. My hot set up has been a Red Hotspot and my "magicbait" squid....its white. Most of the fish I have caught have been around the "Can" or in front of the bay. You just have to keep moving around till you find the fish. If you catch one consider it a hot day. I have fished it 15 days this year and I have averaged one fish a day over that period. Good luck

Worked the bubble Friday. Wasn't going to go since it has been so slow and I have been putting off work around the house. But I have been promising a friend of mine that I would take him out so I said I would for a few hours ( he really had to twist my arm though). Well, this guy has never caught a king.... Should I even tell the rest of the story??? I am sure everyone knows how this will end....

Well, we were out there maybe 15 min...Downrigger pops but the pole stays straight up. My bud grabs his rod and says..awe it just popped off the rigger frown I saw it pull down then go straight up so I said, I don't know, give it a little tug.... laugh laugh BAM!!!! Fish on...His rod was almost ripped right out of his hands. I started laughing my a$$ off :p His eyes looked like a three year old on Xmas morn. 20# in the boat. His first ever. Pretty exciting watching someone fight a king for the first time...

As for me.....Lets just say that I had a good time watching him catch his fish.... Sure did taste good on the que though... cool cool

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the heads up,
but I didn't make it up.
My uncle went and picked
his boat up from the shop,
and someone had stolen his
kicker motor off of the
back of his boat while it was in the
boat yard! What a petty
thing to do!
mad
