I am wondering if anyone has an opinion on these boats. I am in the market to get a new boat and wondered how they compare with alumaweld. Also, where might I get information on these boats?

Thor Built Boats 360 864 8900. I have owned both Alumaweld and Thor boats, and dollar for dollar Thor built boats win hands down. Also you have to look @ fishability and custom options. Alumaweld's are a mass produced boat company that have dealers selling with a list of options.
Thor built's are made by the guys that sold you the boat, therefor you get a custom boat built to your specifications and type of fishing.

My Vote goes to ALUMAWELD, especially when it comes time to sell or trade up to another boat. I have friends call me when they see a Thor Built for sale and ask the same questions who are they!, how big is the company and will they still be building boats 5 years from now? I tell them to get color brochures on both manufactures and compare the boat they want and than research the manufactures on the web.

I'll bet Riverliver doesn't make as much from 3 Rivers, as Fly does from Thor. What else would a Thor built pro-staffer say

AK.......What is your problem? If you knew anything about thor-built boats, you'd know they are built MUCH better than an alumaweld. Alumaweld boats are nice but they don't compare. Why don't you go down to the shop and talk with Mike and and look to see how they are built. Ak if you don't know anything about the topic "thor" why even post.

Did I say something bad about Thor boats, I don't think so, my point was, what else would you expect a pro-staffer to say.
I don't have an opinion one way or the other on either boat since I have never operated or even ridden in either brand. Guess my point would be, I'm not going to run out and by a thor boat on the word of someone who is sponsored by them, kind of a biased opinion wouldn't you say.

Ok, so why even post! It just seems you like to ride Superfly. The topic is about THOR BOATS. Killdux simply put they are sweet. I've been to the shop and checked out the boats in progress. You might think about going down there and taking a look at how they are built.

come on AK post when you have an opinion that you can comment on, you said yourself that you have never been in either boat! This is how all the bull crap gets started, your opinion of Joe has no place here.

It is worth the trip to Thorbuilt and talk to Mike and Dean. They have great answers to all your questions. They build a custom boat for people who fish. If you want to buy a boat where everyone made all the decisions for you then a mass production boat is probably good enough for you.
For the most part Thorbuilt does not make, nor do they try to make an equivalent to Alumaweld.

Just turned down an offer to sell my Thor for the same price that I paid for it three years ago. After running Thor, Koffler, Alumaweld and Willie; I say Thorbuilt easily is the best drifting and tracking boat on the water.

I havent ran a Thor sled yet so Im not much help there. I have rowed 2 different Thor Built drift boats. Right now I own a Willie but when it comes time for a new boat I will be looking hard at a Thor.
