Just wondering if a buzz bomb would work on the river; have fished the Nisqually and can't get the darn things to take eggs or a glo-ball?? Any suggestions on what to use down here to get a fish to bite?

Buzz bombs should be banned from use on rivers....only snaggers use them.

Buzz Bombs work great in the river. You will need to switch to the wider version so that they don't fall as fast and get hung up on the bottom.

There is a big difference between the way that Snaggers fish Buzz Bombs and the way Fishermen fish Buzz Bombs. Snaggers Jerk their rods sideways as fast as they can and hardly let the jig fall. Fishermen pull their rod tips up at a medium Speed and let the jig fall a while before they pull up agian(which is where you hook most of the fish) You still foul hook a few, but then again you will foul hook fish retrieving spinners, or drift gear, or plugs if there are alot of fish in that hole. It is all about the ethics of the individual fisherman, and not the kind of lure they are using.

If your a fisherman you know how to use bb correctly....If you're a snagger you will have a treble on the bb and you will be using 10' swings when jigging. Pretty easy to tell rolleyes rolleyes

Putting people into one category is ridiculous rolleyes .. I will use what the fish are hitting on... If you know how to work the bb correctly salmon in the river WILL bite onto them...Last year...I couldn't keep them off my line...Only once did I ever snag a fish using a BB and that was a Kayak Point and he was released right away. my rule for affective bbing is ....slow and low..a dying fish doesn't suddenly jolt ten feet through the water .... cool

I've used buzz bombs on the lower Snohomish and Skagit for pinks and silvers, but I think the water level in the Nisqually at this time of the year may be too low. All of my strikes on a buzz bomb usually come while the lure tumbles down through the water column when you drop the rod tip. I guess the only way to find out is to experiment. Just make sure you're using a single hook to be legal.

BB's work in rivers; but IMO will not in the Nasty. The Nisc is way too turbid. Since they can't see it, the only reaction the lure will ellicit will be a tail swipe when the salmon feel it fluttering by them. But there are always those exceptions...
