Hit Southworth on Saturday and Sunday morning's this weekend. Saturday was a pretty decent bite on the morning tide change. I put a nice Low teens King in the boat for 3 take downs. But Dangerous Dave had the hot boat putting 4 nice Kings and 1 resident Blackmouth in his boat by 10:00am. The biggest being a nice 18lber caught by one of his fishing partners, the "Walrus". So with high expectations we hit it hard again Sunday morning, fishing through that morning tide change again. Had the pleasure of having Seacat along in my boat for the first time. And although the bite was much slower Sunday, Seacat showed me some more tips on what to look for and where to troll in certain conditions and he put us on fish. I got a 7lb residebnt BM and Seacat nailed a beautiful nickel bright 16lb King. Dangerous Dave put a 10lber in his boat and released a little 3lb Silver and JeffJ put a 10lber in his boat as well.

So, still a bit spotty, not what I think it should be, but there are fish out there.

Congrats! Your report is one of the few positive ones I have heard this weekend. I did not boat a single fish over the weekend. frown

Hey Jason,
It was definately much slower on Sunday than Saturday. Seacat threw about everything he could at 'em on Saunday before picking up the nice King on a Sonic Edge. Everything else was picked up on Herring. Have High morning tides this coming weekend instead of low's so I guess we'll see how that does. will probably fish it Thursday evening also, so if you see us out there say hi.

Thanks for taking me J.R. Had a nice morning even though the catching was pretty slow. Seems like this year is just kind of hit and miss with the Kings. I've had some good days and have seen some nice ones caught, but it's been pretty slow overall.

That nickle bright fish turned turned out to be a white male King. Had him for dinner last night. My wife kind of gave me the "what the heck is that" when she saw the white fillets, but I used some of Tom Douglas' salmon rub which gave it a nice red color and some good flavor too. It turned out great, yummie!

I have thursday off of school and I don't have to go to the boat. Sooo I am thinking I know where I will be if I get over this dang cold I caught.

Silvers are in so I am thinking we are screwed on our King run this year. I hope I am wrong but it seems way to slow for these two weeks these are the peak of the run typically.

Hey Jason, after the day Dangerous Dave had Saturday I am still holding out hope that things will still turn on. He is up in C-Q right now. He called me at 8am this morning and had already limited with three people in the boat today. He said the Silvers are THICK up there! But we will all be back at SW this weekend chasing those Kings!! If yooou are out THurday evening we will probably see you out there!

Look for me Jason, I'll be out in the morning too.

Hey umrules, is DD culling the dinks to limit on pigs or is he taking the small ones too? What's his biggest?

Seacat,
He said all of the fish he has caught are 5-6lb cookie cutters. he said he is only fishing about 3/4 of a mile off shore. So I suggested that if it is calm today to make a run out about 2 miles and see if he gets into some bigger fish. He said he'll be back tonight so we can check out what he has then.

Hope you do well out there Thursday mornig, I plan on doing the evening bite Thursday after work.

Time to get those cookie cutters on the Jenny Craig get fat plan. A pound a week is all I ask!
