Just a FYI and warning:

In case you missed it, crabbing is closed in all of Everett area 8-1/8-2 and Possession Area 9 as of Sept 6.

Guys got so many crab in that long generous couple month opening of three days a week that the recreational quota is all used up. Pretty soon the crab season will be about as long as the shrimp season....by the way that means short...since when all the fishing is closed people go after the shell fish.

But I've still been seeing people crabbing so me thinks the word might not have gotten out. Of course it's the standard emergency closure with not much publicity or notice from WDF.

Tickets would probably stick tho, so don't violate regs!

By the way, fish prices must not be too good, there's been a commercial selling "fresh" WILD Kings at the Everett dock for $1.99 a pound. What a waste. The signs he puts up all emphasize WILD king, not just kings.

And also on the WDF site you can read about the honor being bestowed the WDF boss and Billy Frank for their tremendous work on salmon.

Hope you're all getting the silvers that finally came in to North Sound. Me thinks the people waiting for the "late" kings to come in to Tulalip may be disappointed. I'm not convinced they are coming but you never know.

I also spoke to the gamey at the 10th Street Ramp Sunday morning who confirmed this. She was nice enough to put up flyers at the ramp fee station, but I still saw lots of people heading out with their crab gear.

Regards.

What's up with this anyhow? Who set's the quota's? Is this another 50/50 split where we, the sportsman are getting screwed again? (remember that 11 to 2 is 50/50 in the eyes of some) What's going on here?

Can someone explain this to me/us.
