Went out on Saturday and fished from the Mukilteo ferry all the way to the west side of the bar. Managed to scrape up two small fish, one on each side of the bar. From the sound of the chatter on the radio, the fish were hard to come by. I thought it would be a lot better than it was. I'm not sure where all the fish are. Keep those reports coming in.

Fish may be on the way-- I talked to a guy who fished at PA last week at the 6-Mile buoy, and he claimed that he got into the silvers pretty heavy there. If that is so, fish should be moving, especially with the rain today.

I plan to be on the water Tuesday and will fish Midchannel and then the bombing range south to Possession. There should be something somewhere, right? I also want to try for chums a bit as well.

A customer of mine who is retired and has been fishing Shipwreck 5-6 days a week for the past month says the keys for him are 1) first light till 9 a.m., 2) he starts at 60 ft. and goes down to 90 as it gets lighter 3) hotspot flasher (green) with glow hootchie and herring strip/filet. This guy calls us at work with reports almost daily and he's catching fish while others are coming in telling me nothings happening.

I also believe the early morning bite is a real key to catching the fish. Seems like after 10:00, everything shuts down.

I fished Saturday afternoon. Started on the west side of Possession bar. Got one small but fiesty silver. Not much else going on at Possession, excetp for SMALL blackmouth, even trolling out further in the shipping lane on the tide rips. Went over to Shipwreck to fish the 5pm tide and got a double once I figured out which way the tide was running. My son lost his, but mine was a good 7 lbs. Started fishing towards Mukilteo and got one more, about the same size.

I would concur with what AkKings says about technique/results. I have fished Shipwreck ~ 10 times in the past three weeks and it has gotten steadily better. We use the same set up he describes (green flasher/green spatterback hoochie/herring strip). I have done well from 45-90 feet, depending on the time of day. I have done noticeably better at tide changes. We had 4 fish to the boat up to 8 lbs by 9 am Sunday. The day before I got a limit at tide change in an hour (by myself), 12 lbs and 8 lbs. Yesterday it looked slower, but there were fish being caught. With the number of silvers in the lower Snohomish, etc. I just do not think that the fish that are coming in are sticking around, rather they are pushing through. They are there, but not in the kinds of concentrations we have enjoyed in recent years.

Try a green big al's fish flsher and a cut plug herring. Worked well for me on Sunday. Where are the big boys at?
