I just took a leisurley stroll out to North creek which runs through my office complex in Bothell, & drains into the Sammamish Slough. There had to have been 20-30 actively spawning Sockeye in the stretch I visited. All of them were chasing each other around, carving out nests and doing their thing.

I just wanted to say that I think it is pretty awesome living here in Washington (I'm a native) and being able to walk 150 yards from my office to go and view Salmon spawning like that.

Especially on such a nice October day!

I agree!! I grew up in the Bothell area and remember catching my first Salmon on the Samamish (River) Slough in Kenmore at the mouth of Swamp Creek (Behind the Eagles club). My friend got so excited when I hooked up that he dove into the water to through the fish on the bank. That was a few years ago, I assume that there is no fishing allowed on in the slough. I'm glad to here that there is still a Salmon run!

I often do the same thing on Issaquah creek.
If you like watching salmon spawn, go to lunch at "Jay Barry's" and get a window seat by the creek. The last few years we watched kings, sockeye, and coho spawning right out the window while we ate lunch...

PPhreak,

I was down there yesterday...and was impressed by the size of individual fish in Issaquah Creek this year. I saw quite a few that pushed 30#, which is pretty chubby for that run of fish.

Fish on...

Todd.

I'm amazed as many fish make it through that "ditch of a slough" right next to Bothell Way. It looks awful shallow and stagnant to me....
