Unless you enjoy flossing fish I wouldn't waste the gas. Hard to enjoy yourself on the river with that croud. If you insist on going I would hit some of the holes above the mouth and drift eggs. Good luck to ya. There are some good fish in the river but a lot of scissorbills chasing em.

Was scouting for elk in the Margaret unit Saturday and on the way back, stopped by the North Fork Toutle for a little fishing. I was down near the sediment dam and it was combat fishing at its finest. Lots of silvers and kings pulled out of there (almost all snagged). I clipped on a spinner and nailed a nice 12 pound summer-run (legally by the way), which was a nice surprise. If you go down there... wear a hardhat. laugh
