i went out last weekend and didnt get a single fish. i tryed buzz bombs, spinners, spoons and bait. i was surprised to see that many fish but no one catching any. i saw three boats come in with fish and asked what they got then with and they said a big buzz bomb with a razor sharp treble. the people who caught fish were all snagging. i saw a sherrif on shore watching all the snaggers and didnt do anything about it, that pisses me off. does anyone have any advice on what the fish are hitting on? thanks.

Fished West Point last weekend and caught one 10# that hit a blue pirate hotshot. Also had another fish (presumably big) slam a Mag Wort an hour earlier and snap off a 20# leader. Both lures were fished behind a small deep diver six so they were in the top 30 feet of water. Had some smaller fish hit a hootchie behind a hotspot flasher. If I go out this weekend, I'm going to start with plugs.

Easy,
Yes. I was rigging up the usual hotspot flasher with hootchie while my buddy put a mag wart out. I looked at him kind of funny, but didn't say anything. Turns out he had the winning ticket for the bigger fish we boated.

Yes, although all shakers. At least they were fish. Even used it on Lake Washington trolling for Silvers and guess what I caught! A perch. Yep, had the size 1/0 trebble in its wide open mouth! eek laugh

Might try for some chum that way though.

It looks like the Chum are starting to take over in 8-2. I got what I thought was a silver to the boat and it turned out to be a chum after closer inspection, no spots... Did get one silver, about 7 lbs, same size as the chum.

6 silvers? Great job, Deckhand!

I have some friends coming in from Chicago next weekend and need to catch a few. Were you using anything out of the ordinary or was it hootchies, spoons and herring? How deep was the water where you were catching them?

Thanks in advance!

We used the usual green glow flasher/ green & white hootchie with herring strips. 70-90 feet down. All caught 2 hrs either side of the morning tide change. I may try to get out there again. Good luck.
