I'm afraid that it appears we only brought the clouds back from our great flood trip smile

Not too much fishing for us this year during our break, but we got a chance to play some golf (yes, the back is allowing it!), eat and sleep a whole bunch (one we need, not necessarily the other smile ), and just hang out with a bunch of our friends for a month.

We'll post some final pix of our trip on the reports page, look for some from here before too long.

I swear, I swear I'm going to try to get some the site upgrades done this fall that I've wanted to do for awhile. Things may get kinda messy around here for a bit while I remodel, but please be patient and feel free to pass along any suggestions for stuff you'd like to have!

Now if I can just find that big valve in the backyard that lets some more water in the rivers ...

Thanks again Bob for letting us use your site! What would we do without it? Even those I have never met you, I think you're a real plus to promoting our sports fishing future!
I do have a loaded question for you. How do you feel about the continued gill net fishery on the Columbia River?

I know that this is not an area that you usually fish, but many of us on this board do and would like to hear your thoughts about it. To the best of my memory, I do not recall you voicing any opinion (sorry if I missed hearing it if you had) about the Columbia.

Thanks again

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Glad to hear you made it back in one piece, Bob. Pretty tough conditions up there, huh? Must have come close to crossing paths with you a few days ago.

Looks like you still found a way to have some fun up there. Welcome back. smile

You are right, the conditions were pretty tough. I was in Jim's camp on monday the last day in Sep, and seen your rig there. It was a little early in the morning, everybody was still carring around camp paper. We did manange to get into a couple down river on tues. After that I headed to the Morice and fished there for the next five days. The water was up a little, but we ended up with some pretty good fishing. The floating line with the green butt, seemed to work the best. Next year I am going to take the drift boat up and fish the Morice for the whole ten day's.
They say the fish are smaller in that system, I do not know what they are talking about, We only had one under ten pounds. Glad you had a safe trip back.

Welcome back Bob and Corey! Looking forward to seeing you two on the 22nd.

Oh yeah, please make it your priority to locate that big valve and put some water in the rivers over there.

I'm trying hard to get that valve turned, but it's stuck frown

Cow ... Unfortunatley, it's been many a years since I've followed the Columbia issues with the same amount of interest as the rivers I now call home, BUT any non-selective fishery on mixed stocks is a no-no in my book.

PoshII ... look for a post over the week-end! wink :p
