Might as well get the standby's out of the way first. Mine is Hoodsport. It is fun to wade around out in the saltwater. It is clean smelling, too, contantly refreshed as it is. Nice scenery and big ugly chums to catch (so ugly you feel sorry for them). Just wear a hat when you go, the fly fishers mean business.

hoodsport by far love it when people are standing shoulder to shoulder and back to back with the boaters thrown towards shore also.

I have several. First off for rivers it has to be Blue Creek, both bank and boat. For salt it is Pt. Defiance for sure. I don't think God has ever assembled a mass of pure stupidity as he does down at Pt. D on a Sat. in August. Bouy 10 is a close second though. Pack 4000 boats into a small area, add a splash of river current, a dash of ocean swells, a smidge of wind chop and a liberal amout of beer and you get a great show

I second Reiter.... Opening day with a few testosterone-overdosed dudes and it's a cross etween 5-fish day and pay-per-view Ultimate Fighting Championship! Honestly, while a few bad apples make the memories, I have fished shoulder to shoulder with some really polite and knowledgeable people. And there are the fish....

You guy's are all talking big water's. How about 30-50 fisher's on both banks of a small creek, at high tide it is 25-30 feet across and 6 foot deep. as the tide goes out, it becomes 15-20 foot across and 3 foot deep, at the deepest. Now this is Kennedy Creek outside shelton, John's creek is about the same, except it is harder to get to where you can fish, shoulder to shoulder. You get to know people real well. You learn to be early and save a spot for a freind. Then just wait for the chum's to come running up the shallows, water spraying over their backs. Nothing more exciting, just makes the blood pressure raise and warms the soul.

i would have to say the Samish river in burlington. it is by far the most crowded river ive ever fished. It can be a lot of fun if get in with good group of guys. As in all combat zones it only takes one cracker to make a long day. Reiter would have to be a close second and as far as blue creek i have never fished it so cant really say but it looks too crazy for me.

Ah, let's head north shall we There is no finer combat zone than the Kenai or Russian Rivers (take your pick) during the height of sockeye season. Anglers are often stacked 2-3 rows deep in some places fishing over one another's shoulders! The best thing is, lots of fish and everyone seems to always have one on ... the best spectacle is often watching folks try to net fish for others Everyone needs to do it once! Oh no, I gave away a secret spot

Lake Washington during Sockeye weekend. If you are going to combat fish, why go out of town! All the people watching and fish too!!

I'd have to say the Wind River when the Springers are running good. Why is it my favorite??? Because even though there are 500 boats trolling circles on a mile long stretch at the mouth of the river / Columbia (and there is ALWAYS at least one boat trying to zig zag in and out of all of them), if you are trolling herring or an orange mag wart, you are catching fish!

That is a tough one, I have several that are equally rewarding. Pacific City Bost ramp in Sept Blue Creek in December or June and McCalister Creek in late August. It seems that I have added 3 or 4 more just this year alone. I just dont expect that it will get any better.
