My old boss and a fishing partner works there and he talked me in to trying out the stores hooks. I have been using them all summer and fall. They are pretty good hooks, I am switching between those hooks and Vision, matters on the size of the hook I am use. So, my question is has anyone else tried these hooks? tight lines, hope the rivers rise a lot more.

Sorry - I haven't. Besides, until they tread Easy Limits right about the motor they get none of my business. Check out the recent They stole my boat post.

I agree with you Busy! Auburn sports marine will not be getting any more of my money till they settle up with Easy Limits. They have taken WAY to long. They have a used 15hp yamaha sitting there they should have offered him use of it till the insurance came thru. That would have at least had him on the water. My boat came from there and it wont be going back.I have been going to SPORTCO they have a better selection and allot lower prices.

Me too. Damn Easy still no motor? I haven't set foot in there since that day and you notice if you drive by there they are doing a facelift of the place. It needed it. I felt like I was walking into someones garage to shop. Anyway I too am on strike against them.

I still find it hard to believe that they haven't been able to take care of that YET. But hey, when the insurance company get involved you are pretty much hosed. However, That doesn't remove the goodwill factor from the store. If they do have a used motor sitting there they might want to try and make a customer happy while they sort it out. Sure, they lose the oportunity to sell that motor for awhile and it comes back with a few more hours on it, but the goodwill they build up can make a customer for life. Not to mention word of mouth advertising, that is something money can't buy. I have never shopped there, if I was in the area and needed something I would have stopped in, Not now. I hope you do get it taken care of soon before the whole season is over. Again, this is just my opinion. Tight lines, Matthew

Sorry, I don't see the animosity towards AS&M. Easy Limits, if you had insurance on your boat, your insurance company would subrogate the damages and you'd be back on the water.

Bonker, I have already collected from my insurance. That happened in the first week. It was not enough to cover the motor though.

I support you also. I used AS&M for lots of my fishing gear and outboard parts but I have not been in the store since I read your stolen boat situation. I am just one small reduction in their profits but it still makes a point. I may or may not reconsider if they ever make you whole for your loss. They have illustrated their total lack of customer service by not knowing your boat was stolen from their control until you contacted them. Hope for the best !!!!!!

Bought my Bayliner from a great guy in Auburn. He told me he only took it to Olympic Marine in Fife. I guess now I might know why!! Keep after 'em, Carl! Maybe we need to get the Piscatorial Pursuits picket line going??

I'm inclined to agree with Baitboy and disagree with Bonker. I don't shop Auburn Marine, but will avoid them when in the area. It seems they've already shown how they treat customers through their poor handling of this situation.

Your animosity towards AS&M is unfounded. They did not steal the boat, there is a liability issue - but not negligence. How does Easy Limits know the boat was gone 3 days, and not a few hours? Why should AS&M give him a running motor? - the one he took for repairs was broken and I assume not running. Has Easy Limits contacted his insurance company on the 2nd loss? The whole thing sounds bizarre to me. Steal a boat, leave it along side the road but take the lights off, and call for it to be towed to an Albertson's? Sorry, you guys are in left field on this one, trying to raise stink to get your buddy a new motor for nothing.

Again I disagree with you Bonker. The point is Easy left his boat and motor with Auburn Marine to have work done on it. It was stolen when in their charge due to their negligence. To make matters worse, they don't appear to have made any attempt to inform him that it was stolen until he approached them. Although I won't speculate on their level of responsibility I know if I brought my car to a shop and it was stolen while they were supposed to be working on it, I would be pretty upset....especially if made to wait 5 weeks to get the problem resolved. In my opinion this case is a pretty good example of poor customer relations/service.

MAY have been negligent is what I said. Did they take reasonable precautions to prevent the theft? How do you know they did and aren't negligent Bonker, I don't even think they or their adjuster know at this point. For crying out loud, they didn't even know the boat was gone until EL went to check on it. Now how is that being responsible for someone's property? Seems fairly negligent in LAYMAN'S terms. I am familiar with the legal arguments of this issue as I fish with my insurance adjuster and we hashed this one and Dangerous Dave's incident out pretty good. One could make a case for "attractive nuisance" on this one too as they apparently just parked it in a dirt lot across the street from the actual building. These places are frequent targets of theft and they have a responsibility to protect the property they are in custodianship of. Whether or not EL wants to pursue legal recourse, the reputation of a business is really at stake here. Business people make decisions all the time regarding these situations, and many times they give a little to gain more in return. "The customer is always right" is practiced my many businesses because they know that word of mouth is either the best or worst advertising. In this case, it's not looking too good. If that's being left field, well I'm in good company!

First off, I can't find the post talking about boat being stolen and left in Albertson's lot, can anyone list link here for me??? I found original post about stuff stolen, but not one Bonker listed.
Bonker, what company do you work for anyways? I would like to know, because if you supply insurance I deal with, I'm switching. Guys like you give insurance companies bad names. I'm sorry to say, but I've dealt with ALOT of insurance adjusters (L & I-private that is, car, and home) and they are some of the lowest of lowest on the scumbag factor. I can't believe you'd even post a response. Some things sound fishy, but you must look at the individual's past first before making a statement "it looks fishy". Guess what? If his claims record is clean, paid his rates, yada yada yada, he's good to go. Insurance companies are too good to take your money, but harder then hell to collect from. Then play the "pitty me" game when they finally pay. I've dealt with a State Farm adjuster quite a few times. (Luckily only once while I had them, rest settling from a second party injury). One over a loss of a stereo in my car (that had special insurance mind you) and same adjusters on a couple dog bites. Every time I was told that I was at fault and that I must have made situation happen. Only insurance company I've had decent luck with was Farmers. Had truck broken into and they covered damages and losses fast and easy. None of this delay crap. I sure hope you get this resolved EL. Take bonker's words for trash, I'd assume he either represents AS&M or another one of his buddies is the rep.
Bonker, say what you will about me, but dealt with enough insurance guys like you, all the same. Your evaluation sized you up. I'd assume you're an adjuster, right?

Spawner-See two posts on Washington Lakes under They Tried To Steal My Moter- First set is about motor, second is about boat stolen while in to fix the motor. Great pictures of what idiots and a tow strap can do to a boat and trailer.

Bonker you are correct... The whole thing sounds bizarre to me and to everyone else..... the State Trooper, the tow company guy, my insurance, Auburn Police, and the Federal Way Police. If you would like to look things up to satisfy yourself, email me, and I will give you three case numbers and you can be the judge. Better yet, why don't you call me on my cell phone 253.709.0651.

They should give easy a running motor. Yes his was damaged but auburn sports marine lost it before they could tell what the damage was. All that we know is the lower skeg was broke off. Most likely it was still a runner. Anybody know of anouther smokercraft dealer in the southend. My buddy wants a 16' lodge but I talked him into not going to ASM. Is VERLES in shelton the closest??? I told him I would drive him were ever as long as it wasnt ASM.

It's funny when someone looks for the legal loop holes or wants to use the proper legal speak when avoiding their responsibilities. I think if I were in charge of AS&M I would probably make sure Easy Limits was overly compensated in this situation. I would be on the insurance company to get it settled up quick and clean, would get him satisfied on the motor issue and anything else needed to make him understand how sorry I was for his inconvenience.....the last thing I would do is bury my head in the sand and pass the buck.
