Does anybody use one? My friend just bought one and he says it runs on 3 "C" batteries, and that he can leave it one for 30 days straight before the batteries are dead. eek

It was kinda spendy ($50) but if the battery life is that long it'll pay for itself in no time. It also has a super bright light, way brighter than my mag-light with new batteries.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

They're the greatest thing since sliced bread. eek Really.

I have a single white LED light that runs on a watch battery on my keychain and it's BRIGHT.

The 4 or 6 LED lights (about the size of a mini-mag) are really bright, and you can drop them on a concrete floor without the LED's burning out.

He may be overstating the battery life a little if he had white LED's, but some of the other colors (red, orange) probably do last that long on a set of batteries.

Beware the really cheap LED lights.......their LED's are of poor quality.

My friends flashlight is made by Browning,it's called the odyssey series. I checked out Brownings site and they claim 600hrs of continuous use, that's 25 days! cool

I've got a black diamond headlamp. Four LED"s, 3-AAA batteries, wieghs a couple ounces and will run for 70 hours . It is the best hunting tool since the knife, gun and bow.

I use a Petzl Tikka headband type. 3 white LED'S + 3 triple AAA batteries= up to 150hrs of use. $33.00 to $35.00 batteries included. Light weight, hands free hiking, climbing, knot tying and untangling in the dark with none of that silly drooling from holding a mini-mag in your mouth. How many times have you reached for a light....only to find the batteries are dead. If you haven't been there yet you will be unless you have one of these LED units. They're worth the cost. cool

Those little Browning LED flashlights rule as far as there size is concerned. My friend has one and they are easily 2-3 times brighter then a Mini Mag light

Try a Pelican super saberlite, we use them in the fire service, so their fireman proof. That in itself say's alot. Grainger supply carries them about $25.00, oh ya their submersible too!

LED is the only way to go for both brightness and for life. We used them exclusively in aircraft interiors for their dependability and light. Look around, you will see them on buses and trucks too, for the rear mainly, but there have been a few created for headlights. Just a large cluster of LEDs.

My favorite is the tiny, but bright Pelican L1 . It's brighter than the photon type, lasts longer, and uses cheaper batteries.

Has anyone tried Led Hedz ? It clips right on the bill of your baseball cap!

For reviews of every LED light you can imagine, check out the LED Museum .

I to have a tikka, but will be looking for a Black Diamond soon. The tikkas are great and I think maybe a hair better on the light output then the Black Diamonds, but if your hands are wet at all when turning the tikka on and off, the switch will carrode fairly quickly, especially around saltwater. The switch for the tikkas is on top and the water runs right down you fingers to the switch, the Black Diamond is on the bottom.
Either way I will never buy a incandesent flash light agin.

Sweet post #69

NEN cool

Ya, good point Cowlitz, my "white" LED light is a great glo charger too. It has enough UV drift to call it a white blacklight. Buy two, cause yer kid is gonna commandeer the first, heh.
