I plan on floating the Sky (Sultan to Ben Howard) this coming Sunday. Any thoughts on how best to trick a chum into a bite?

We both have enough gear to either drift fish terminal gear, pull plugs, or throw floats/jigs.

We will be in the relatively new blue/silver Alumaweld drift boat.

Sardine wrapped K-15 Kwik Fish. It's all you need for chumpers on the Sky.

K-15's or 16's with a jet diver on a slider to help get them down a little deeper than just hold on. I will be doing the same float on saturday and sunday. umbrella umbrella

When using the K-15's do you anchor up and just sit or do you actually back troll them?

Driftboat has the ticket there, He showed me how to do it a couple of years ago. I have had success with and without a diver. alot depends upon water conditions and hole depth. Wrap them puppies with sardine's, Bob has a link in the technique's that shows how. Jerry's surplus or Ted's both carry them.
Driftboat are you doing the BenHoward thing? maybe I will run into you.

Scfd454 I will be doing the Ben Howard thing as I always do. When the water is up like this I like to use a diver to help put them down. beer rolleyes

Based on the replys here, I might as well plan on passing through the Cracker Bar first thing Sunday. I figure there will be chums down toward 2-bit, at Elwell, and through the Thunderbird drift.

Maybe, with the rain we're supposed to get late Friday/all day Saturday, there may be a bright winter run that is anxious to get upstream. We'll spend some time on the river, since it will be the first time the boat has been wet (other than dew) since last February when the rivers closed!
