Well,

Here is the last photo of my garage you will see for a while. This weekend I turned her upright and got the last of the interior completed. I also converted an old utility trailer into my low budget DB trailer, complete with UHMW covered bunks and a rear roller system (the UHMW is from the old bottom). I also converted the rear fixed seat into a slider to match the other one. It was previously set up for flyfishing. Now it is dual duty!

Anyway, if you have questions on your upcoming project, let me know, I'll point you in the right directions, and hopefully let you avoid some mistakes.

The next photo will be of the first fish!

Bardo,

Now that ain't even funny. Ain't no driftboat gonna' make it down the upper Wynoochee. I have floated the Weatherwax Canyon, not knowing that it's not navigable. Spent 3 hours doing the Wynoochee Watusi style portage with my white water canoe. Fortunately we had a lot of rope and caribiners along. The gorge is so narrow you could touch driftboat oars to both walls at the same time. When the water gets deep and slow, you're just about at the rockfall. It ain't navigable; it's a strainer.

Nice looking boat, Andy, so don't let Bardo talk you into floating the wrong stretch of river.

Sincerely,

Salmo g.

That's okay. Bardo will be there to rescue me with his whirly bird! wink Shoot, I bet that at 250 lbs he could even drop it just about anywhere, providing it isn't too windy. Talk about being about to "put in" anywhere. Gonna have to float the "Raft", if you know what I mean.

FJ, if you don't mind a cracker on the oars, I'd be happy to knock a fish off for you. Get the net!

Dogfish, I have been following your project from start to finish, nice job. The pictures have been great and you showed a lot of patience doing all that woodwork. It reminded me of when my Dad was alive, all we ever had were wood boats and it seemed that it was a yearly project, pulling of sheets of fiberglass and letting it dry to put more on.
I'll be looking for that boat on the river soon.

Hi Chris,

I'll be on that "zipperlip" of ours on Turkey Day. I'll be up a bit higher than wher we started, and taking out where we put in.
