Anybody have an opinion on the Shimano Calyx reels? I have a chance to pick one up cheap and was wondering if it is worth using for hardware/drift fishing steelies and silvers. Thanks!

i own two calyx 100's and i use them on my plug rods only. i've used them for drifting from the bank, and they just aren't as smooth of a reel as what i'm used to. if youre getting a good deal on one it will always work for a back up. good luck!

I bought one recently on E-Bay. Have used a couple of times, it seems like an OK reel, nice smooth drag, and nice size. I also have the 100 size. If the price is right, go for it!!
