Buddy of mine called me this morning telling me that he read in the paper there getting Silvers. Kinda hard to believe there getting much action with the water level so low. Has anyone had any luck the past few days. I wanted to hit it Thanksgiving morning but never made it. Hopefully someone has had succes.

Fish on,

ErnDog

Don't know how they did today, but we drove over it this morning and looked to be a mess of trailers at the Highway launch and the water looked to be in much better shape than we've got further north. Hope this helps a little smile

I hit it today for awhile...water is very low and only hooked chums. They are starting to get pretty beat up too. Maybe one more trip left this year after the next high water, then there will be better places to go.

Fished it hard on Thurs. fished from Cook Creek to the bridge. Foul hooked a couple of dogs on the East Fork, no silvers. Pounded every spot I know from the West Fork down. One decent silver only on pink #4 Vibrax. Most of the boats are on the lower 1/3 below the confluence. East fork too low and clear once again. Not much happening here...go figure!

Is the Satsop bank-able? I was thinking of heading that way tomorrow.

I fished it yesterday for a few hours. Very low and clear. A friend took me into a zipperlip hole and I managed to land a couple of chinook of which one was still in good shape along with about 5 or 6 silvers that were still pretty fair. At least 3 pt 4 that I landed were still table fish. I ended up turning all of them loose and had a great day in the sunshine. The fish are there but they are not going to show under the conditions that we have at this time. Another good rain would make things happen. Until that happens it will be pretty slow except for the first through the hole. Good luck fishy fishy

Carl,

Fish the hole below Schaefer Park - good bank access there. Just downstream from the bridge that crosses the river below Schaefer Park. Lots of people, but there are lots of fish there too.

No It's not possible. With the water level as it is I can only imagine what is going on at the so called "hole" below the bridge at the park. There is very little pocket water on the entire West fork right now that even resembles a hole of anykind. These "depressions" are the only water these fish have. Give them a break. Kinda like "Shootin' fish in a barrel" isn't it? Be honest, how many butt hooked fish did you see "caught" up there. I driven by a couple of times in the last week. I was sickened by the obvious techniques used by several of these "fishermen". Don't kill the spawners out of lack of anything else to do.

Drove out to Schaefer SP this afternoon. First time out there. The water looked really low. Saw a couple of guys fishing here and there. Saw a lot of dead fish (chum) carcasses in the river.
