Questions for you pros. I am still very new to figuring this stuff out. Been doing a lot of reading here and elsewhere. It sounds to me like jigging with a float and a pink worm is the easiest way to get into hooking some steelhead If I know how to read steelie water. Would you guys agree with this assessment? The next question is "do salmon take these pink worms as well?"

The answer is maybe ... if you present properly. I see lots of float anglers not presenting things well and consequntly, not hooking nearly as many fish as they could be. The easiest? A glob of eggs or a shrimp bounced on the bottom ... easiest to use under all conditions w/o having to really know water depth etc. ...

They do like wormies though wink

was reading thru a sts mag awhile ago, and the author was using a pinkk worms for the big kings in a certain river up there, so ya id say it works for salmon.. and i personally have found out that everything will take the pink worm, ive caught src's, dolly's, steelies, smolts, trout on them..i usually put the hook like 1/2 inch or less above the tail, becuz the smaller trout will rip the tails off...and also, put either a bead or a sequin above the hook, so it dont tear the worm thru so easily..add procure shrimp oil for steelies also..my fav choice for a lure....
