Well, I didn't fish Green Pt this morning.
Instead I went to Devil's Head. I have been having problems with the Merc and figured if I crapped out, I could always use the tide to bring me in.. (Not to mention an electrical fire last weekend that I thought for sure ruined all my electronics.)

On the water a little later than I like- 8:15. Fished for three hours without a hit despite numerous bait and fish marked. Finally, at 11:20 I hit a 21" shaker.

Best news I can report is the fact I caught 6 squid. 3 on a spoon, 2 on a B-2 (ironic), and 1 on an Apex all in 150' or deeper. Just finished having lunch!!!

Merc ran like a champ so I'll be out tomorrow at Green Pt fishing the secret trench!

Hey DR, I did fish Green Point this AM with a buddy, and all we caught were 3 shakers, although I did have a good hit and a head shake breifly that felt like a keeper - came off of course. Talked to the 4 other boats out there and heard of nothing better. So at least you got squid - what, were they trying to mate with yours banana

A Blackmouth is an immature Chinook.

Spawn, are you headed out tomorrow? DD is dragging his boat down and I'll be out with my lucky fishing partner- my daughter.

Hope to see you there!

Fished Pt. Defiance today and seen several fish caught. I got a 7#er mooching right at the clay banks in 140ft of water. Seen 1 caught that was in the mid teens also by a moocher.
I couldn't believe the amount of bait just outside the slag piles. It sounded like a really heavy rain hitting the water. It was a pleasant day to be on the water. :p

No fishin' for me until after Xmas DR - course by then we are supposed to have gale force winds beathead

I'm becoming convinced that the incoming tide is better at Green Point anyway based upon this year's results in my boat. There was sure a lot of bait out there yesterday, however, more than I've seen, so if that bait actually comes with fish today you should do good, especially with your "secret weapon" on board thumbs
