U.S. President George Bush decided to skip seeking warrants for international wiretaps because the court was challenging him at an unprecedented rate.
A review of Justice Department reports to Congress by Heart newspapers shows the 26-year-old Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court modified more wiretap requests from the Bush administration than the four previous presidential administrations combined.
The 11-judge court that authorizes FISA wiretaps modified only two search warrant orders out of the 13,102 applications approved over the first 22 years of the court's operation.
But since 2001, the judges have modified 179 of the 5,645 requests for surveillance by the Bush administration, the report said. A total of 173 of those court-ordered "substantive modifications" took place in 2003 and 2004. And, the judges also rejected or deferred at least six requests for warrants during those two years -- the first outright rejection of a wiretap request in the court's history.

That works just fine. It's nice and simple and 49% of the people are of below average intelligence.

Salmo G I figure it this way, without bad we would not see the good, Thetroll represents the "dark side" nicely in a harmless manner here, enhanceing my appreciation of the good that exists in the world and the good people I have met on this board.....toss a bad dog a bone, and enjoy all the barking for what it is. I do learn from this stuff, his point conterpoint method has brought much intelligent interaction from many thoughtful people, you specifically have been able to hit close to the mark in articulating what many believe to be the proper side of the line on many occasions and I have come to respect your opinion, thank you! So, you see, toss him a bone, let him bark, it gives a good forum for education. Plus it is kinda fun to drop a quarter in his slot and watch him perform on occasion. stam

Yopu girls should rent a room it would be easier to pat each other on the arse in person.
KK's last post said what? Some one is convicted or at laest presumed guilty of wrong doing based on the volume of their actions vs previous admins? And I I thought he was counsel to the SCOTUS. You should read up on Clinton and Goerlicks moves to criminalize terrorism and it then makes sense what they did and why 9-11 was possible. No news and even fewer lefties calling for impeachment the past two weeks Why is that? they realize its political death to jump on this FAR LEFT get Bush campaign.
