I saw this thread yesterday and read the article. I found it more interesting than actual pornography. Pornography is interesting in that it was the first business allegedly to make a profit on the internet. I suppose other commerce exceeds it now, but it's funny, entertaining, and interesting to think that sex led the way in making internet commerce the big business it is today. Never spent any of my money on it, tho. Looked at the freebies 2 or 3 times, enough for it to become ho-hum. Maybe I'm too cheap, too old, or didn't like all the stupid pop-ups that infected my computer from going there.

Salmo, you can't run unprotected on the internet where porn sites are concerned. If you do, PC destruction is eminant: A good spyware program is a must as is a good virus program like Norton. Adding a router will also prevent information from coming in unless you request it. Even with all that **** you've got to run Ad-Aware or somthing similar once in a while to clean-up your registry.

Not was only porn the leader in cyber-commerce, much of the password/authentication/security methods used today derived from there as well. The porn industry did a lot for the internet world.

I just got a lot of junk, no PC destruction. And I run Zone Alarm now, but don't need or really desire a porn fix. It seems like I needed a firewall just from the crap I can pick up crusing fishing web sites.

Ad Aware from Lavasoft is good, but running FireFox as your browser is even better. I run FireFox (free), AdAware (free), an IP Blocker, and Norton Antivirus. I don't have any trouble with pop ups, or spyware.

vhawk is dead on. As I've been told, almost if not all of the spy software on the market is written to attack Microsoft code. The Mozilla FireFox browser is coded differently and is immune to these programs. I also ran it at home and had no problems until my wife and kids grenaded the PC.

Parker says he can fix it. We'll see.

I find it interesting that lefties support porn supposedly as a freedom of expresion. When all the research shows that women involved with porn have been victimized by men in some fashion leading them to porn. You would think all you libs raised by feminist moms would be against it.
