The National Democratic Committee has announced it's changing the emblem of the Democratic Party - from a Donkey to a condom. The National Democratic party Chairman explained that the condom more clearly reflects the Party's current stance... owing to the fact that a condom accepts inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of *****s, and gives you a sense of security while you're actually being screwed. Please make certain your democratic friends make the appropriate changes on any of their campaign literature.

Is the left using scare tactics again? Why is it a scare tactic when liberals worry about security, but something to admire when neocons talk about it? Why is it reasonable to worry about scissors on a plane, but not an ammonia nitrate bomb fifty times the size of the one that took down the Oklahoma Federal building floating in on a cargo ship? Why does the White House feel the need to circumvent the courts (and the law) to listen in on phone conversations of American citizens, but doesn't seem concerned about handing the keys to the backdoor to an Arab country? Seems to me that common sense isn't that common among the far right.

"but you don't want Homeland Securtiy to listen into over-seas telephone conversations with suspected terrorists?"
And without oversight we know this is what they are doing because? BUSH SAID SO!!!!! Oh yeah you drank the kool-aid.
Do you have a brain of your own?
And by the way that is a rhetorical question...

Seems to me that common sense isn't that common among the far right. Vhawk you've circumvented the Question. Are you sure your not a politician? The government says it will still oversee security at the ports. That will not change from what it is currently. So why Is the left screaming we are giving up port security every chance they get? Scare tactics is what it seems like to me. can you convince me otherwise? dont point the finger back at the far right they f up too but this question is about the lefties.

Perfectly circular line of BS. Its like a turd that swirls round and round the bowl but never flushes. UAE won't be in charge of security, but the federal agency in charge of security, the US Coast Guard, doesn't feel comfortable with the UAE running the ports. Buts it ok if the UAE is operating our busy ports because the Coast Guard will be in charge of security.
Nevermind that the White House doesn't listen while the guard dog barks at the fox in the henhouse, because by their reasoning as long as its not the guard dog roughing up the chicken coop, why worry?
What part of all this should not worry normal, commonsense folk? Scare tactics? Maybe a new phony Bin Laden audio tape everytime GW needs a lift in the polls might qualify, but not this.
Hmmm seems just about time for a new tape to emerge. I'm guessing sometime in the next two weeks.
And thanks for comparing me to a politician. I'm just not sure who would vote for me.

the federal agencies only provide the physical security on the ports....the UAE will provide all the administrative security...... in other words the coast guard will still protect the boats from another boat pulling alongside it that is filled with explosives.
micro-its not a leftist scare tactic and the revolt is being led by the republican party-not the left...... if the UAE wants to allow a container to be loaded up with a nuke over in Dubai, they will know exactly how to label the conatainer and what companies get the least screening so label it as from that company....
they will know the screening patterns of our coast guard and learn what areas of a ship would be best to hide a nuke in... they will know the strengths and weaknesses of every stage in the game..........
ok if the radical right wants this deal so bad: catch bin laden first, then i will trust you when ya say "trust me, they arent against us any more"
