The Constitution doesn't depend on politicians being good people. The separation of powers depends on power hungry members of each branch of government jealously protecting their own powers against encroachment by "rival" branches.


For some reason it hasn't worked that way for the last 5 years with the Repubs in Congress (and the
SC?) Maybe that will change now that Bush's approval ratings are in the pits.
