actually aix does have a point. it is unfair to him and the industry. BUT, damn aix stop whining. it aint gonna help anyone, and my eyes hurt from reading this. although very funny to hear, you going on like a little kid. this isnt middle school or am i missing something.

back on subject. my buddy had the same problem with that dealership last summer. they offered him a deal on a truck for 3000 under the listed price. so he went and got a loan for the ammount of the truck after taxes and all that good stuff. then they told him they wouldnt give him that deal. he ended up buying the same truck but used with 5000 more miles for a 3rd of the price. so it all worked out in the end.

I haven't ventured over to this forum for a while, usually because there isn't much here worth reading, IMHO...but it seems that the tone and tenor have changed enough that there is now some actual debate going on...good show on that one, folks!

This thread, however, might be one of the most entertaining I have read in a long while...while the actual topic at hand was fairly easy to follow (olybirds, you probably could have sued Cornforth to make them perform the contract...but it looks like you came out just fine in the end anyway, and now have a dealership you can work with in the future)...the secondary topic took me a while to discern...I think I've got it under control, now, though, and like I said, it was awfully entertaining.

Maybe I'll have to come back over here and do a little arguing every once in a while!

Fish on...

I can't make many promises, Marsha...but playing the conservative role is one role that I'd have a hard time with, so I doubt that will happen.

So long as there are a few around who are willing to actually debate some topics, rather than copy/past articles and drink the Kool-Aid, then I think it will be a fun place to be.

Are you the same todd that was on another ___fishin site in the political area several months ago? Seems you stopped posting right when someone called you on the carpet asking you to back up your 'historical facts' regarding "the reason most wars were started".

If that is the same todd, I find your last comment about debating here a little funny smile

Nah, no running from certain posts or posters...I just got tired of the dogged "I'm completely right, you're completely wrong" style of argument there...I prefer to see some recognition that there are plusses and minuses to every opinion, and to see people at least acknowledge that when they put their opinions forward.

The lack of that here is why I never really posted on this forum, and is why I don't really post on the other ones anymore, either...I spend more time arguing about politics on the straight up political sites, rather than the "catch all" forums on fishing sites.

In the past week I've seen a few topics here actually get discussed, rather than swung around like blunt hammers by extremists on both ends, so I thought I might give it a shot here for a while. Who knows? Maybe I'll post more on the "other one", too...with the mid-term elections coming up there ought to be some good topics to discuss, ones that will actually have some application to the real world.

I also shy away from "topics" that are just titles with someone else's article copy/pasted into the message, with no attempt to analyze what was in the article...especially because most of the articles used like that are written by some nut job from one far side of the political spectrum or other, and don't do much for actual thought or discussion on their own.

As the extremists get more entrenched in their positions on these boards, it seems they look more to find whackjobs that agree with their positions and post their writing, rather than actually defend and discuss their own ideas.

Fish on...

Ah my sides hurt from laughing so hard.

Oly,

I'll have nothing good to pass on regarding the dealership, Cornforth Campbell GMC that screwed you. Word of mouth is worth something.

Maybe there is a car dealer on this board who might see the value of making you a fair deal.

And as far as Aix spouting off his Aix hole, it's a perfect example of why one should read over what they've written at least just once. A typo is one thing, but when it gets to the point where it reads like gibberish...well thats just good ole red-state edukation.

At least we all agree that Liberals are educated mo-betta, 'specially the thousands of them who can't punch a simple ballot !

Sing it wit me, "RE'COUNT! RE'COUNT! RE'COUNT!"

Seriously V,
you can't be that hatefull towards approximately half of your fellow Countrymen, (if you go by the past couple of Presidential elections it's a shade more than half), or you could say about half of the men who died protecting what freedom we still have... smart, well educated guys like you should be able to find ways to bring us closer together instead of running off at the beak with childish remarks about how much smarter you are than others.........I vote Republican almost strait down the line, but I will seriously listen to other peoples opinion and try to learn what makes them tick. For me, the gun control and entitlement crap makes it all but unthinkable to vote Democrat, I am thinking it is high time for something other than the lessor of two evils, heck even the lessor of three or four eveils would be nice for change.

Thx Vhawk. But I did actually find a great dealership right here in OLY. Rotters in the Auto Mall. They basically gave me the deal that Cornforth re-niged on. Great People and I'd recommend them to anyone. Very painless experience.

The new truck tows the boat like a dream. So Hopfully I will have trouble free Fishing, and wont be comming back into Your ER this summer nor make any more attempts to Fillet my fingers off beer

Oly,

New boat? When do I get a ride? Drop me a line I'm right in town.

Oregonian,
you're going to make this too easy.

I didn't realize Aix was half my fellow countrymen. That explains the voting irregularities.

If you were really listening then you wouldn't be voting Republican.

If lo-bid or cheapest is always on your mind, you deserve what you get.
I thought this was originally about a car dealership that treats customers like they are tourists. You know, "screw 'em, we'll never see them again." They are right. I'd never go back.
Now, who's next on the roast agenda?

Maybe I misunderstood the part of your comment which I quoted in bold above, are you not attempting to put down everyone who votes "red" ?

Seems to me that smart people should find common ground and try to build on that, instead of making childish hurtfull comments...

That's ok Aunty M. a little excess helium in your larynx will make you a soprano too. Actually all my diving has been free diving or with a tank of potential poison. I get paranoid below 200 feet.

Jawohl, Ich kenne wenege Deutsch. Nein. I would never permit an obviously compounded word from another language to be in the Bee list. Ur , one word of Deutsch, Sprache, another Deutsch word. Ur meaning original and Sprache meaning language. I know our Americanese is full of words from other languages and that German is one of the common sources of many of "our" words. Still, I felt the boundaries of the Bee had been stretched. Now why should I give a damn anyway?

Curiosity piqued. Olybird mentioned filleting his fingers and referred to Vhawk's ER. Now that is a basis for some conjuring.Item one: Vhawk, now that there is a possibility that Vhawk is an MD, does that mean he is a gynocologist? laugh
Or perhaps Vhawk provided on the scene first aid for Olybird at a fishing aftermath, knife weilding session. Or Vhawk is an ER resident, intern, ...... oh well the possibilities are myriad.
Btw Olybird is not the only one to turn a hobby, or labor of love, in this case Ham Radio and a 2nd class commercial ticket with a telegraph endorsement, into a bit of cash generating activities. I used to fix 'friends' vhf marine, ham equipment, cb radios etc for the fun of it. Never even considered the fact that I might be taking livelyhood away from some professional shop.
I opened a small business and did well for a while, however, the fun often leaves a hobby when it is used for income. I'd rather be fishing or hunting.
I can empathize with both sides of the previously nettlesome issue.

You, an occidental accupuncturist. S... fire and save matches. You should do well. China is a long haul for a bit of bloodshed. If something hurts why stick needles into another spot? Counter irritant principle at work perhaps??
Vhawk, and a gyn had a harmonic association it seemed to me.

Sard, If Vhawk is a Gynocologist, I want to get one thing straight. He DID NOT probe me in any shape or form wink

And yes, I was referring to an ER visit I had, where I Stuck my Fillet Knife about 1/2 way thru my thumb while Hacking up Carcasses for Crab bait. I was covered in Fish Slime and Blood from Filleting fish, when I went to the ER for some Stitches. So Vhawk being the sharp guy that he is Figured I must have some skills(at fishing, not Filleting) and somehow we got on the topic of PP.... And the rest as they say is History.

Aunty, That link isnt really to my website, Its just sort of a Brag Book, in .Jpeg form. I used that as a way to share some pictures with friends or whoever was interested. (free service with comcast internet)... Notice there are fishing pictures too. I hope The Guides dont think Im catching all their fish, and not Taking their business when I offer to take my friends or People I meet on Fishing BB's fishing.(Did you catch the sarcasm there??)

So since you posted the link, I guess its OK for me to post a picture of a Pheasant that I worked on today, since it was pouring rain all day. Please be forewarned, that Im only a hobbyist and that my work Is Hidious. Guess thats why I am mounting this bird free for a 72 year old neighbor of mine who Takes his Springer Spaniel to Feild trials and brings me a release bird every now and again.
