Thanks everyone!
I was so spent and exhausted after that fish that I could barley tail it, let alone get the mid-section of the fish up for the photo - hence the grimmace on the photo.
I flat out just quit fishing for the day after that fish. I was spent. Done. Shaking like it was my first ever steelhead. Talking a mile a minute to Bob, who was laughing the whole time.
Wish I had a great story to tell like Salmonella, but I do not. The fish fought really hard and flat out abused me on the spey rod (hence the "this is gay" comments I made on video). I tried everything in my power to lose the fish, but could not. I had no feel for what a 12 pound tipped could or could not do on a 14' spey rod.
The fish eventually left it's little pool and made a run down the heavy water with me in running on water in tow. Fortunately, I was able to coax him over to the shallows where Bob helped in landing it, as there was no way I was going to muscle that fish all the way to the beach on it's side.
Regardless of what was said on the board earlier, that trip was by far the best fishing trip I've been on and I can only thank the other 3 guys for putting up with my crap. I'm overly-competitive when it comes to fishing and it rubbed off on my fishing partners for the week. They were up for the experience, in their sacred waters, I was not . I don't think they will ever truly forgive me, but at least I walked away from this experience seeing myself in a different light - a light I will work hard on to change.
We can all be a horses ass sometimes. Just wish someone would have pointed that horses ass out to me earlier.....
Probably will never get invited back up there again, but at least I have some awesome memories.

We can all be a horses ass sometimes. Just wish someone would have pointed that horses ass out to me earlier..... Not me. I'm pure as the driven snow. I didn't want to talk to you in person during the trip because I have a tendancy to let my emotions escalate in a verbal confrontation and I did not want to ruin the trip for everyone. That said, I should not have let you push my button on the board and react the way I did. But that's me, spontanious and forthright. What I should have done is send my thoughts via email. My mistake. What do you say we hook-up before to long and wipe this one off the books, bro? And next time you piss me off I'll just tell you to go fuc% yourself instead of bottling it up. We should probably stick with day trips for awhile, though.

Fishermen all get on each others' nerves if they are shacked up for more than a couple of days...with all the drinking, lying, one upmanship, drinking, foul weather, bad food, drinking...did I mention the drinking part?
I know I get on Sol's nerves...God knows he gets on mine...but I still look forward to fishing with him each spring as one of my favorite weekends of the year!
Fish on...

Sound like maybe your begining to grow as an angler, climbing that hierarchy of needs so to speak. Someday it maybe more about the experience, the fish and your contribution back to the resource. Not so much about self promotion and ego. Happy climbing...

News flash: Each of our souls were sold to the Devil long before you ever caught that fish. Good news for those that believe is that we were bought back for an incalcuble price. BTW, you can keep your coin and your fish, cause this amazing grace is freely given to those who would ask.

Mingo... Thats the first time.. ever.. That you let me down. Hope you NEVER do it agin. I don't like what I see there, and attached to "Oprah" give me something to think about that I'd rather not. Read someplace that if she ran for president she would win no problem.
On the other hand.. Katie Couric.. I'd hit it.

Worse than you know buddie in the real world.
When I was a kid I has some serious game. But for an example, The other day I was going down the freeway and saw my 22 year old daughter driving in front of me. The girl in the car with her was smoking hot. I got close and she was looking at me because I was looking at her so I gave her the forked fingers over the mouth with a tounge wag. She tells my daughter.. " this guy is checking me out and rude" Daughter says " Is he cute ",, " GOD NO HE'S OLD"..
JESUS ITS MY DAD...

I was and still am happy as hell for you. As far as group dynamics and this whole mess, this trip is a ball buster. Expectations are as high as Mt. Rainer and even old fishing buddies can have issues. I remember just a few years ago, Stam and I had a falling out over authorship of a photo. We had a petty altercation much like Parker and I on this trip that boiled over into snid remarks on some threads and we finally realized our friendship was worth more than either of our singular opionions on the subject. Today, he's still my favorite fishing buddy. So Parker, don't fret, bro. You didn't burn any bridges, man.

But what we really want to know right now is if either Sol or Parker would hit Katie Couric. I know Stam would

O.K seastrike.. these guys will back me up on this.
Whats even more disturbing than the little hotties not wanting you is the fact that the "OLD SKANKS " want you bad.
I stop at the same gas place most every day to pick up some coffie. Happens over and over.. 35 years old, fat, stud in tounge and a tatt with a little diamond stud in her nose.. I'm a nice guy and am not mean to her so after awhile she is looking at me like I am a lolly pop because she has the impression that maybe since I am older and have probably lowered my standards she might have a chance.
Nothing worse than gross girls flrting with when they never used to.

I was told that while on the "Fishing Trip" Parker had arranged for the boys to meet some lovlies at the local spa up in BC. Perhaps this explains the hard feelings towards him.

Katie really turns my crank. I would love to see that smirky demeanor replaced by wailing animal sounds, with her hair all mussed up and sweat pouring between those perky little boobs, while she screams something like "Double clutch it muthafokker." Gotta go now. Need a shower.

KK...too much fishing lately to spend much time pushing the authoritarians around...but this thread was too hard to pass up.
I'm outta here in ten minutes for five days of low water steelheading...at least the camping will be nice.
You behave now, ya hear?
Fish on...
Todd

What more do you need? Well, in a pefect world she could at least acknowledge the fact that she has never once called me back Suppose her ears have been burning for the last 24 hours and she has no idea why ?? I once made an Ann Coulter Voodoo doll and rammed a sharp stick up its butt, but I see she is still alive. So I recon IF ( or should I say when) I ruff up the suspect thinking about Katie she won't even know its happening

You guys are missing it with the fat women. You just take a piece of chalk and mark the spot you've been. I did have to give up one gal, I walked around her, there was another guy standing there with a piece of chalk!!

I always liked throwing flour on them and finding the wet spot.

The crappy part is waking up the next morning hung over with a mouthful of flour.
