But you know what bro, the Democratic party has their complete f ups too in my opinion.

As a conservative moderate, I get screwed by both major parties.

KK, you are much more fluent in politics than I am, However I just cannot see any one party having so much good that I'm bouncing off the walls.

I am always very hesitant to discuss politics in public.
I believe that there are both good and bad people in both parties and I can be friends with people that have completley different beliefs than I do.
Not everyone feels that way.

...are the ones who have been in charge of the Republican Party, and have been running the show unchecked for the last six years.

These guys, however...

...have not only not been in charge of the country, they are not in charge of the Democratic Party, either.

No one should like extremists at either end, but the fact of the matter is that the Radical Right Extremists have stolen the Republican Party from true Conservatives, and have made hay with our country...while the Radical Left Extremists aren't even in the running within the Democratic Party, much less running the show in D.C..

I'll take the moderate Democratic leadership we now have over the radical right Republican neocons that we've been stuck with the last six years.

I really enjoy conversation with someone that is not a lockstepping tool of their political party.
Let's all hope things work out for the betterment of this country.
For my entire life, I've been in love with the outdoors, whether it is hunting or fishing.
Mother nature is my God, the streams and mountains are my church and steeple.
It will be a glorious day when all people that care about the environment can come together.
Hunters, fishermen and the preservationists too.
As it is we are so fragmented and at odds with each other that in the end mother nature loses.

So very true, that's why I remain an Independent and vote for the person I think is best, no matter which party they are affiliated with.

This time around I voted across the board for Democates. Desperate times calls for desperate measures. This is the first time that each and every issue or candidate that I voted for won. Yes, I know it's hard to believe, but I was 100% in choosing winners this last vote. I also, like a few others here, voted for Regan both times and twice for Papa Bush, with a mix of both (Rep & Dem), in previous elections. This time around was an exception though, as I voted to boot the party (Repu) that was supporting the facist direction this country was headed.

If and when the Democrates screw up and forget that they are to represent the people and not just corporations and special interest, they will get the same,..that I can promise. I'm not holding my breath, as campaign reform is desperately needed in order that elections are fuel with public money and not big oil,etc.

Now it's time to wait and see. BTW, when I see [Bleeeeep!], I don't hesitate to call it as such. No spin, or pretending from me to cover the foul stinch. If it's got feathers and walks and quacks, it's a duck in my book. After my 100% in the last election, seems most of my opinions are shared by the majority of Independent thinking Americans.

Anyway, I am grateful that after all the pre-war arguments I made against this war, that most people are now on the same page that I am.

Pelosi wants to stop the miniscule amount of profiling that the TSA does now under the table. Egad. We will probably farm out our TSA security people to the lowest bidder, yup headquartered in Dubai or Mogadishu, or perhaps Peshawar.
I hope when the Brady Bunch presents their latest attempts to make you subjects rather than citizens you react with some anger.
Other than a few other observations on the socialist bend of the Democrats I think change is the only sure thing in the human condition. I hope it works out for the best.
Now if the Sierra Club could just divorce itself from the environuts like the ELF, and PETA and some others of that ilk, maybe they could squeeze into the legislating process and help save some pieces here and there that are under assault. Abrogate some of the netting treaties wouldn't be a bad start.
Take the country's main mode of freight movement, and people movement too, back to steel on steel. The railroads have always been the most efficient movers. They were just shot in the spine by government regulations and the budding trucking industry and their allies the big rig builders. Keep government out of the Rail road business. Let free enterprise work. However, for every buck spent on freeways, spend another buck on the continental rail system.
