Just curious if someone could tell me how to get to the hatchery on the Lewis? I would appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

Assuming you are referring to the Lewis R. hatchery at Cedar Cr. on the North Fork of the Lewis:
Take I-5 south to Woodland.
Take the left going under the freeway.
Heading east take the first right which goes over the N. F. Lewis R.
Over bridge stay left going east on Co Rd 16, follow it maybe 8 mi. to Co Rd 20 take a left and follow signs. A little over a mile you'll come to boat ramp facility on the south side of river.

To get to north side of river:
Simply stay on Hwy 503 after going under the freeway.

There is a second (steelhead) hatchery just below Ariel (Merwin) dam. It has a put-in and can be reached by following the highway on the north side of the river on up past the first (salmon) hatchery.

Thank you mooch. Is the south side the area most people fish from? Or is it the north side?

Buck,

Not sure if your banking it or boatin. If it's the terminal steelhead fishery you want from the bank then Thumpers got it right. If your boating, most will use Cedar Cr. on the south side. If you want to bank fish other than the deadline area, both sides are available but I remember best access being on the south side. Thumper might give you better info.

I don't think fishing up around the dam is the place to be now. Really high water flow(10792 cfs). The hatchery hole aka cedar creek hole is a ok spot, but its arm to arm fishing there now on the North side of the river but on the south side of the river theres ground to fish, not to many people. dont know why theres not as many people fishing the south side of the river, i do better on the south side then i do on the north side. but hey, lets keep it that way, fishing is much better on the north side of the river

Thanks again for the info. It doesn't sound to hard to find the river. Good luck to all.
