Does anyone know if there is a way to figure out what the people in charge of regulating the flows on the Cowlitz are thinking about doing next. I dont want to go on a day when they are going to dramatically change the flow.

they usually change it before and after the weekend.

They should be able to tell you what you need to know, or where you can get that information.

For sure they will ramp it down a thousand or two Friday night and run it back up for Monday. Really screws things up when the river is running as low as it is now. It's at 5.5k now, by the weekend it will be under 4k and I wouldn't be able to get my prop boat back upstream

Its easy to predict the water flows on the Cowlitz. If the weather is COLD, they will release more water to generate power for Tacoma Power customers. Once the weather warms up they will drop the river flows.

Thanks for the help. I got passed around a few times on the phone with TP but finally extracted an answer from Kieth Morrisette @ 253.502.8830 He confirmed they would be lowering it over the weekend and said he did not know what time friday this would happen. Looks like today woould have been the day.
