How is the Wynoochee looking? Looking at the graphs it looks sort of borderline. Has it dropped back in yet? Shoot me an email kbbosselman@qwest.net if you don't want to post a reply.

Thanks

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

She's probably good for plunkin' right now, but by the river height, I'd say it's still gotta be pretty colored up.

If you don't have anything better going.....it might not be a bad gig to go out and plunk a nice shrimp with a spin-n-glo and see what happens.

Milky and high, but getting better. It seems like, from watching the river flows, when the flow gets to around 2200 CFS they close the floodgates on the dam and the level drops fast after that. Looks like about noon tomorrow when the river will be at that level, just in time for the weekend.

Gave it a go today. Debated over whether to do the upper or lower river. Finally decided that since the days are starting to get a bit longer we'd give the upper drift a try.

Put in at Shafer Creek and drifted to White Bridge. There was about 1 ft of visiblity at Shafer Creek and it improved to about 2 ft by the time we got to White Bridge (all the little feeder streams were running gin clear).

There was still too much water coming down on the upper drift to effectively fish most of our usual honey holes, so we concentrated on what softer water we could find.

The bad news: All we could manage was one dark coho.

The good news: It still had plenty of fight left and I caught it on my float set up my wife got me for Christmas, on a jig I tied myself smile . (Decided this was the year to try my hand at float fishing).

Talked to some people at the takeout and from the reports, the lower river was the better option today.

Fished today, still running high. Maybe 2 foot visibility. We did better than most and that wasn't very good. The parking problem at the boat ramps looks like the S curves near Seattle at 4:30 PM. I feel sorry for those that can only fish the weekends, what a mess!!!!!
It was nice to see the DOW officers on scene doing their job. They were very professional and courteous.

Right now the Satsop looks perfect, but the 'Nooch is still a little high and muddy. Talked to 7 plunkers, one had a fish. When they drop the discharge from the dam it should make a big difference, right now the majority of the water is coming out of the dam and it's pure mud. And y'all come on down this weekend - I'm going blackmouth fishing myself :p

Joined the circus on the nooch this morning, first time for me on that river and was not sure what to expect...
Saw 15-20 sleds and a few drift boats too. No fish for anybody that I talked to. Pulled out at 1030, and went to the Cow, even more boats, but atleast a few fish.
The nooch had about a foot to 16 inches vis but no fish.

I looked at it sunday morning at white bridge and left, still very little vis and the reports from the day before were very poor. I also talked to another guide on sunday night and he had 3 guys and they got one fish all day. very poor fishing I guess. I will wait on this one.

Well, today it's actually starting to green up - maybe 1.5 to 2' vis, and I actually saw a plunker hook and lose a steelhead when I walked down to the river during lunch. Raining hard right now, but with the weather supposed to be ok this weekend, who knows, maybe things will start happening <img border="0" alt="[Goldfish]" title="" src="graemlins/goldfish.gif" />
