The ball & socket setup, the same that most marine electronics now have come from this company.

Basicially, it allows me to position my rod holds exactly at any angle I wish ... two rods, nice & tight, three rods, wider w/o sacrificing the tip angler like you do with a conventional holder.

Pretty neat setups smile

Okay ... my typos get me in trouble again wink

TIP ANGLE smile

Don't know what they run, or even if they offer exactly what I have anymore. The ones I have are a conversion for Fish-ON holders that you disassemble and then bolt onto the unit. They may only offer their own rod holder package itself now. Might give them a call and see what they can do for you.

For those that have been around driftboats a long time, you might recognize the name of the owner ... Carnevalli (sp?) ... maker of handmade oarlocks and anchor releases that are still widely sought after by serious DB'ers, just a little FYI wink

I have those oar locks that your talking about, they are stronger than heck.
Yea the ones on the site there look a little different than I can remember from the pics of yours.
By the way do you happen to have any pics that I could see for your holder set up>?(if you dont I can just wait till your photo gallery is back up).
I run two holders in my boat but want to install one more in the center, and want to get them up a little higher so I can make them parallel to the water.
Thanks again Bob-O

I got some of the RAM rod holders last year and they work great.

Here are the parts to use if you already have Fish-On bases.

RAM-117B - RAM-ROD FISHING ROD HOLDER

RAM-201 - RAM DOUBLE BALL SOCKET ARM ASSEMBLY

RAM-1056B - RAM POST FISH-ON,ATWOD,SCOTY,GEARLOCK

You can get all the pieces from Outdoor Emporium in Seattle. However, its cheaper to buy the rod holder form Cabela's ~30.00 ea and then buy the conversion posts from Outdoor Emporium ~15.00.

They are kind of expensive but I think worth it. I even got a longer arm for my middle rod.

Here is a pic form chum season that shows the rod holder in the lower left.
