Ok so I'm not Nick Bakay but I gave it an effort...

Fishing: Fish the Skykomish knowing the hatchery fish have been delayed or destroyed in the ocean...
Drugs: Wander the streets of downtown Seattle knowing that a huge shipment was just busted at the port...
Advantage: Fishing

Fishing: Lack of steelhead forces you to fish for other gamefish...
Drugs: Lack of smack forces you to smoke alot of grass...
Advantage: Push

Fishing: Drive a hundred miles with three guys you just met, check four rivers to see if they are in shape, go home without having made a cast.
Drugs: Drive two hundred miles with three guys you still haven't met because one guy knows a guy who knows a guy, go home without.
Advantage: Push

Fishing: Buy your gear on the internet...
Drugs: Buy your gear on the internet...
Advantage: Definitely drugs...

Fishing: Hitting bottom...
Drugs: Hitting bottom...
Advantage: Fishing

Fishing: Plunk all day in one spot, no fish...
Drugs: Sit on the couch all day in one spot, no drugs...
Advantage: Push

Fishing: Do drugs..
Drugs: Go fishing...
Advantage: Drugs

Fishing: Hooked after the first hit...
Drugs: Hooked after the first hit...
Advantage: Definitely fishing...

Let's see,

both cause our loved ones think we're wasting our lives,

both consume excess money,

both cause one's physical appearance and cleanliness to become degraded,

both can cause loss of jobs,

and so on...

My wife has the opinion that a drug habit would be cheaper for me.

Hello, my name is Bill. I've had this fishing habit for 51.5 years now.

Actually according to Dick Nite I don't have a "habit". Just a case of "fishing pox" for which there is no apparent cure. Under treatment it says to visit sporting goods dealer now.

Funny about this comparison ... my old roommate out here and I used to joke about it.

Get our clients "hooked" and they'd have to come back for another "fix" smile

I tried to kick the habit by using the fishing patch but that crap did not work. The more I try to quit fishing the more I want to fish. laugh

Sometimes when I'm feeling crabby, and I start in on my wife and kids, they tell me that I need to take care of my fishin' Jones.

So everybody sing along! (in your best falsetto)

FISHIN' JONES

I GOT A FISHIN' JONES

I GOT A FISHIN' JONES OH BAYBE

OOH-OOH-OOH
