Loc: Kennewick,
My buddy and I both bought pontoon boat this past fall. I bought a Bucks Bag Southfork and my buddy a Water Skeeter. I have floated the Kliciktat and Clearwater with it. What a blast. Headed to the Grande Ronde President's Day weekend. I have also used it at Lake Lenice. Lots of fun.

Right on. If my new boat gets here in time I am joining some friends on a overnight pontoon trip this weekend on the Clearwater or the Queets. Not sure which one yet.

Please let me know what you think of their two man boat after you get it.

I plan to get one of Creek Company two man boats within a couple of weeks. This way I can take family members or friends out. Seems like the best option with my Toyota Corolla.

My fishing partner and I each bought one of their 10' boats. We like them and they stack on top of each other very well on my utility trailer.

Anyway, I changed the seat on my 10' boat because the bar at the top of the seat hit me in the back. Also the oar locks seem to be too high (and I am 6'2") -- even with mounting the new seat on top of pressure treated 2x4s. To me these are problems I can live with or fix because the price is right. I may cut the top off of the oar lock down closer to the frame. This would only give me about 1/2-3/4" but at the handles that much might help quite a bit -- going to have to look at it more closely. I know it will mess up my warranty but oh well it has to work.

In general we find the boats to be very fast and manuverable. Great fun. Very stable also. Still have to get out on any heavy water but it seemed to handle the Alsea real well.

We had the 9' double pontoon Outcast along on our first trip and compared the 1018 to it and the Creek Company boat handled way better -- much more manuverable than the top of the line Outcast. Though I should add that the Outcast was about 4 years old -- still in great shape but the design has changed a little on the newer ones. They are wider.

My friend said the Creek Company 1018 was the best money he had ever spent.

I look forward to hearing what you think of the 1220 - 2 man boat after you put it together and use it.

I am curious to hear if you think the oar locks seem to high on that boat also. Talk to me.

I have a 2 man buc and a single skeeter. I think Buc need to stop using items that will rust on them, like the d rings and the casting platform in the front. The carryall bags are not water tight as a matter of fact they let H20 in quite well and do not let it out.... Booo.

You can not fish from them at anchor as you would a drift boat. The guy on the stix must keep the boat from kiting when at anchor. So we fish the guy in the front and if you are on the stix you can only hope your buddy gets one soon so you can trade positions. If two are to fish at the same time you must pull the boat over and bank it.

Don't get me wrong I like my buc, one must understand it limitations and deal with them.
For class three water and up I would take it over a drift boat any day.

I am working on changes to the bag and anchoring problems. If anyone has any ideas let me know.

My single man skeeter has suffered a few equipment failures. Two broken seats and one frame failure. They have been good about fixing the problems, but when you are drifting in the middle of nowhere this can be a big problem. Duc tape, shock cords, monel wire, line, and basic tools should always be carried.
These items have saved my butt more than once.

All in all I like my blow up boats for the following reason. I can put in almost where ever I want which more often than not give me first water in the morning. I don't need a boat ramp so well you can figure the rest out.

I must admit I am looking at getting a drift boat again cuz one can never have enough boats.

I am very pleased with my new boat.
That fish I landed was about a 6lb brat but that second one I hooked into was awesome. I'm sure you heard me cussing. lol
I wanted to give that hole more time but my buddies wanted to get going.
I landed a 3lb brat this morning up at Forks today. Boats been out twice and twice it has landed fish.
Hollar at me next time. I'll pull over and tell a couple of lies.

Peace

peace hello

I've bought a skeeter single 2 yrs ago & another for the wife, boy or anyone I take with me last yr. The River Runner I modified with a 38# minn kota last fall. I reversed the seat, foot rests go where the trolling plate & basket were (front) & the foot rests to the "factory" rear. This puts the seat ahead of the oar locks (read limited rowing) so the ballance is level. This is with a full size marine battery. It scoots across impoundments & is going to be tested more in the Skagit this summer. I'm optimistic as to it's versitility.

I have a Skeeter Snohomish. I have searched and searched the web to find this model, but havent found it yet. When i called to order the River Tamer II, the guy told me they had a demo boat that i could get for $400.00 instead of $600 because it had been setup in a sporting goods store. The Snohomish is said to be an upgraded model of another boat, but i cant remember which. The only thing i dont like about this boat is that it sits a little lower than some other boats. I think it is because of the shape of the tubes, they have a more rounded shape on the bottom which i think causes less surface area and therfore sits lower. I guess i could always buy new tubes though.
