I just recently purchased a river hawk marine anchor system and was curious how you hook up a bouy so I can quick release when I have a big nook on? The anchor is the exact same as the columbia river anchor but just a hair smaller. I mostly fish the Fraser but hooking big fish and having to leave your bouy and anchor is still necessary. Also I hear that the first part of the anchor you want to hook on chain? Could someone explain from step one how to set this up, your comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks

Have you had a chance to got to your local Tackle shop to see one of these sety up? Also they have the EZ-Anchors at GI Joes with the chain and the bouy system. It would help to get a visual fo ti set up. Hope this helps you out.

Anchor > 4' to 8' chain, > anchor line with plenty of extra for angle of scope (3-7x depth depending on current) > anchor line pully with ratchet stop that is hooked to buoy > 20-25' tag line from buoy to boat. Fish-on, just unhook the tag line from boat and float away. When ready to leave for the day, use the boat to pull up the anchor via the one-way pulley. Be sure to get upstream of the buoy when doing this and be very careful if in a river. If anchor hangs up and current cathces your boat swinging it back around the wrong side (downstream) you can swamp your self real quick
