Anyone know the current water conditions for the Chehalis? Is it in shape for sturgeon? Where is good put-in access? Any other tips would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Current river level is 17,000 CFS. Pretty high and hard running. I fish only when below 10,000. But most times I'm banking it and it takes WAY too much lead to stay down. I think by Friday it should be great. Best place to launch is Friends Landing in Montesano. If you have a big boat check the tides because on a low tide it will be VERY hard to get your boat out. Here are links for tides and current flow. On the page click daily predictions and the "get list" scroll down to Grays Harbor Chehalis River Montesano. On the River flow just click the Chehalis basin, then the yellow triagle that says Porter because the others are only gage heights. Good luck, Jim

I forgot one piece of important info. WATCH OUT FOR DEADHEADS!!!!!!! A lot of trees flow down this river and will pull a boat under by it's anchor line. Use a break away system with a bouy. If not, keep a serated blade knife next to the anchor rope so you can cut it fast and keep an eye out up river.

Drove by on my way home from work tonight, still a fair amount of wood in the river. Yesterday going to Aberdeen I saw 7 whole trees, in the evening two trees and a few cords of firewood. Be careful.

Other area rivers still pretty muddy.
