Does anybody know where I can get any reports on saltwater (sportfishing), C&R mortality for salmon, I was wondering if the state of Wash, or our neighbors up in B.C. have anything printed up, that I could get.
I am heading up to ketchikan AK, in a couple of weeks for the board of fisheries meetings.
The state seems to think the C&R mortality is around 18% in the saltwater, for salmon. That sounds a little high to me. The funny thing is, they have no real data to back that up.That's why, I am in need of some info. Anything would help.
Thanks, Bob

Bob,

Here's a link to an article written about some Canadian research into this subject.

This has got to be a very tough topic to get accurate numbers on, with so many variables. Bait , flies, jigs, plugs, hootchies, barbs, barbless, etc. Let alone tracking and identifying the paticular fish caught and released.
