I'm heading over to the OP this weekend. I want to float the Bogie from the hatchery to lyndecker and the Hoh from morgans crossing to oxbow. I have floated all or most of the major northend rivers. Sky, Snoq, Stilly, Sauk, Skagit, The sauk itself probably 12 times a year upper and middle drift's. I've been rowing a drift-boat for six years now. I would consider my self an intermediate oarsman. I'm wondering if these drifts are in my leage or over my head. And about how many miles is each drift? I have allways been taught to keep my head up and hands on the oars and I do so !! I have a Tremendous respect for all rivers! Any input would be greatly appreciated.

You will have no problem with either of these rivers. The Bogie was dead Staerdy. I heard the Hoh is putting out. Now if you were doing the Sol Duc or Calawah I'd would tell you to research or hire a guide. But the Bogie is a easy float and everything I hear of the Hoh is it's a fairly easy float. Good luck, I'm heading for the Hoh and the Quweets this week. Peace

The usual drift on the Bogachiel is the Hatchery to Wilsons. You are in for a very long day going from the Hatchery to Leyendecker.

I'll 2nd Gutz......hatchery to lyondecker very long esp. this time of year. Stop at Wilson instead. If you pull plugs remember it takes longer to get down the river and you don't want to run out of light on your first trip.

Thanks guys. The input is great. And thanks for the advice on Leyendecker. I will take that advice and pull out at Wilson. Defenitly don't want to get caught in the dark on a river I've never floated before or any river for that fact!THANKS AGAIN !!!!!

The first drift I did on the Bogie was from the hatchery to Wilson's. It's got some nice water! Hey maybe people can help me too!! I was going to come out this weekend and investigate floating from oxbow down (river low, fish low, river high, fish high, in the system that is). What are the best takeouts downstream? If I come by myself, is it fairly easy to get a ride upstream on the south side of the river? I've heard of G&L shake but don't know how to access it or recognize it coming down the river. Any tips on that? Is there other good public access.?
