Does anybody have one of the rotary chip bait holders from Pro-Troll? If so, does it work, where did you get it, how much do they cost?

I like the idea ( but then I'm a sucker for gadgets). I usually have the best production from a plug-cut and 5 or 6 ozs.

But I have a lot of gadgets one of which is a Canon DR with the (ionization ?) feature. Does anybody know how to disable this so I can us a black-box?

Thanks for any input,
herm confused

I bought a few roto-chip lures at the boat show from the Outdoor Emporium guys. I think they were $5. I have yet to test them out. This weekend I think.

I cant remember where I saw them Sportco or GI joes. I know GI joes has the rotary salmon killers but Im not sure about the one with the chip. Give Joes in federal way a call I think that might be where I saw them.

I think you will void your Canon warranty if you open the motor cover. I have similar Canon down riggers and that feature works just fine. You just check the wire with a multimeter and adjust accordingly. But I suppose you could set the downrigger at zero and use a black box but I personally have better things to do with $100.

I've bought them at Seattle Marine for about $1 a peice, maybe less. They have a wide assortment of various styles and colors plus all your other salmon gear at less cost than most retailers.
