I can't believe they closed this topic. The real reason that this guy is getting bashed is that real fisherman know how to release fish. Give me a break on the excitement. We all get excited but the real fisherman know what there doin. He must be a rookie.

Benny Hill,
Cant you be a rookie and still be a "Real Fishermen"? We all started someplace didn't we? My Dad used to tell me when I was just child that I was A real fishermen, even when I was new at it! As long as I was catchen' em he praised me--I'm glad they closed the topic! Sincerely, Darin

Steelnerves, You can be a rookie. I realize that we all started as rookies but if you dont know what your doin and what the ways of the times are then you had better expect to be flamed.

I think people could be more respectful sometimes and go about it in an educational questioning way rather than just guessing what type of person is on the other end of the "bashing" -Also, if the bashing is of a friendly nature or a humorous -trust me the effect would be a much better -a- more positive one -for everyone. I said this before, if you assume anything you make an "AS!"-out-a-"U"-and-"ME". If I ever assume anything on this forum would somebody please smack me! Good friends always deserve healthy bashings though... Anyway, hopefully Bob or one of the mediators will delete this one -thread soon. Good Fishing, Darin

HMMmmmm...lets see, we can focus on one fish that was not treated to roughly and is most likely fine and waste all kinds of energy fighting amongst ourselves, or we could do something constructive and try to accomplish something.... Thankfully the majority on this board are steeped in common sense and the flamers have a great example to learn from in many of the posts

Nice one for a second post...way to make friends around here. If you read more of Jacobs' posts, you'd see he's really a pretty bright guy and seems to be a responsible sportsman. The ones so quick to judge (and bring it up a second time) say more about themselves than the 'offense'. Make a contribution....then judge others. I typed this before I read JonnyDeep post and we seem to agree that this horse is dead but some people won't let it go.

Benny ... no need for the thread to continue, either there or here.
Jacob caught an awesome fish, IMO (as well a number of others) he could have handled it a little better a user suggested how he might do that down the road ... that's where things should have stopped, they didn't, I closed. Pretty simple ...
FYI - Yes, I believe there should have been some mention of the fish in the sand, but NO, I don't think guys should have jumped him for it NOR was there much use for those that carried on ragging on those users who brought up the handling issue.
Go fishing eevryone, have some fun ... yes, politics and education are part of the game (they SHOULD be in real angler's world), but that's not all there is to it!
