i used the line you are talking about 2 X, both times on poles supplied by a guide & both times the yellow line was used on the main line, 16# mainline (the yellowish line) w/ 12# (or 14#) clear izor for leader for springers in the cowlitz river and 10# (maybe 12#) mainline the yellowish line & 6# clear izor for leader for winter run steelies... had zero troubles on both occasions
PS: i use ande day in & day out, I just change the # test for type of fishing, 20# green main line w/16 # "tournament" or 15 # green leader for springers on the Columbia, 16# "tournament" or 15# green main & leader off bank for kings in the cowlitz, 10# green for steelhead in the cowlitz (bank or boat, jig & bobber or drifting eggs), & 8# green in the so-called zipper lip rivers, never had a problem = best bang for buck
PSS: learn the albright knot (go to this link)"http://www.marinews.com/fishing/Knots%20&%20Rigging/fk_albright.htm" & back (spool up first) braided dacron on your bait caster(s) then, tie about 150 yds of the ande with the Albright knot (it also works lines of same diameter), then when your ande gets worn, replace it, for lower tests, fill the spool full the first time with desired line, then replace 100 yds at a time as needed using the albright knot... this approach allows one
$ 5.39 spool of ande green to last weeks of daily fishing... no cheaper, safer way out.......
