This web site has been around for a while but they recently added some cool features.
They now have the GPS coordinates listed for each beach and a link to an aerial picture of the beach. I’ve often wanted to try clamming on some of these beaches but feared a gun totting land owner might ruin my day, with the GPS coordinates I can land with confidence. I’ve been slowly adding all the coordinates into a text file and then downloading them into my Lowrance…cool stuff!

You have to follow the 3 steps to get to the specific info for a beach:

Step 1
Select a county on the map

Step 2
Select a water body on the map

Step 3
Select a beach on the map

Hope this is useful...

You might still want be careful if it looks like it could be private beach. I know for a fact that some of the information on there is incorrect. To be safe I would still knock on the door and check with the possible landowner.

CJK I'd really appreciate any info you may have on the inaccuracies you noticed.
Please e-mail or priv msg me.

The one inaccurracy I notice right away is that a number of the beaches shown are only public up to the Mean Low Water Line. An example would be the beach just south of the Jefferson County/Mason County line on Hood Canal called Robbinswold. This beach is only public up to a +3 foot tide height(MLW for Hood Canal)....with the remaining upper beach being private. Finding where that line is pretty much beyond the skills of nearly all recreational shellfishers. You can contact DNR for maps that show the locations of all of these public beaches and the type of tide height ownerships for them.

You can find the locations on the D.W.F.W. website. Its been a while since I've been there but it has the locations. How read the markers. And what kind of public access is allowed. Some are reachable only by boat.
If I get a chance I will try to find the right location on the website and post it.Actually dont remember if it was there or a link I got there.Just jnow thats where I started at.
