I'm heading up to Port Townsend this weeked to fish the bank. The tides are only a 1 to 2 ft swing, I was wonderin if anybody has some words of wisdom for that type of tide in that area... I've also heard they been catchin some fish at Lip Lip pt. any hints there?

Thanks

Aready did that, Mike wasn't in, but the other guy (can't remember his name)was helpful. Said things where picking up a bit. I'm hoping the weather dosn't keep me off the water.

I think that Mike tends to be more realistic. The other guy is pretty optimistic. We were out two weeks ago and boated 2 of the 3 fish that were checked (out of something like 9 boats). He was telling people that fishing was pretty good. I don't know if I'd call that pretty good.

The fish are few, but very nice size. On the bank itself, the seals are very thick. We lost one that was a low-teens fish to a seal. I hate that! Only got one other fish all morning. So, pretty slow overall.

Lip Lip has produced fish, but it seems that just a few people are catching the fish. Again, the ones caught are nice-- generally 10 pounds plus.

Sounds like fishing is better in area 8-2, actually. We're not bothering going out of PT this weekend. I can't stand to fish all morning for one fish (especially if you have better than 50/50 chance of losing it to a seal).
