I am going to replace my old vest and was wondering if there where any ideas on a good one, i am a old school drift fisherman meaning i really dont want the yuppy stuff like fanny packs and flip out pockets and gadgets, just a good sturdy vest, $$ no issue....

if $$ is no option, the Filson foul weather vest would be something to check out. its almost bulletproof and it also has a backpack for lunch, camera, etc. i think it runs about $160 but i see them cheaper on ebay every now and then.

i would recomend getting a custom vest made for you. mainly because the biggest problem i have encountered with vests is they are too short and put alot of stress on your neck. i know a lady who makes custom vest if you are interested i got one from her and its awesome she even embroidered my name in it! just a thought...

check out LL Bean. I got a vest from them a few years back and am looking for one now. I just have to get on the web site. It has plenty of pockets and it has a life time warrenty. The only reason I want to get another one is because I am afraid that they will stop making the kind I want.
Okie boy. I want to know more about the costom vest. lecr300@yahoo.com

I'm very happy with my new Columbia vest. Good quality, and good design for quick access with cold fingers. The padding around the neck area makes it easy to carry several pounds of stuff.

Cold water products were my favorite, but they quit making vest, so I have no idea anymore.
That picture looks like the Cable Hole on the Snoqualmie?
