Going to fly into Anchorage next week and looking for a last minute halibut charter. Is this a good time of year or is there such a thing as an off season for these denisons of the deep? Any suggestions on a good boat are very welcome. Thanks in advance. What can expect to pay by the way!

Deep Creek / Anchor Point launches won't open for a bit yet, so you'll have to hit Seward or Homer. Yes, fishng won't be as good as other times, but if you can team up with other anglers to get a boat out, you ought to find a few flatties. Try Silver Fox in Homer, usually $195.00 (same as our price).

Good luck!

I don't have any specifics and I haven't fished with him, but this is the father of a friend of mine. If he's anything like his son, he's a good guy.
