Still some really nice hatchery fish around the Oly Penn area rivers. This one had already broke off another angler as there was a double hook set up in its mouth. I have never caught one so nice and bright with mature eggs so late in March. Nice!

Way too fat with eggs to be a summer run, although I thought about that also. This fish was most likely the result of a well run wild Broodstock program, timing is totally different from chambers creek steelhead.

One fish is selected to bite, it has agressive genes.
The other fish is selected to not bite, it returns to the hatchery in record time.

this fish bit at least twice!
